1 ) In 1917, Britain issued the Balfour Declaration:
His Majesty’s Government views with favor the establishment in Palestine of a national home for the Jewish people, and will use their best endeavors to facilitate the achievement of this object, it being clearly understood that nothing shall be done which may prejudice the civil and religious rights of existing non-Jewish communities in Palestine or the rights and political status enjoyed by Jews in any other country.
The
Mandate for Palestine included the Balfour Declaration. It specifically referred to “the historical connections of the Jewish people with Palestine” and to the moral validity of “reconstituting their National Home in that country.” The term “reconstituting” shows recognition of the fact that Palestine had been the Jews’ home. Furthermore, the British were instructed to “use their best endeavors to facilitate” Jewish immigration, to encourage settlement on the land and to “secure” the Jewish National Home. The word “Arab” does not appear in the Mandatory award.

The Mandate was formalized by the 52 governments at the League of Nations on July 24, 1922.

2 ) the British Mandate covered all of the levant, including the territory now known as The Hashemite Kindom Of Jordan, (a new entity created by churchil as a consolation prize to the house of saud for their dubious assistance against the ottoman empire in ww1)

ARTICLE 1. The Mandatory shall have full powers of legislation and of administration, save as they may be limited by the terms of this mandate.
ARTICLE 2. The Mandatory shall be responsible for placing the country under such political, administrative and economic conditions as will secure the establishment of the Jewish national home, as laid down in the preamble, and the development of self*governing institutions, and also for safeguarding the civil and religious rights of all the inhabitants of Palestine, irrespective of race and religion.
ARTICLE 3. The Mandatory shall, so far as circumstances permit, encourage local autonomy.
ARTICLE 4. An appropriate Jewish agency shall be recognised as a public body for the purpose of advising and co*operating with the Administration of Palestine in such economic, social and other matters as may affect the establishment of the Jewish national home and the interests of the Jewish population in Palestine, and, subject always to the control of the Administration to assist and take part in the development of the country.
The Zionist organization, so long as its organization and constitution are in the opinion of the Mandatory appropriate, shall be recognised as such agency. It shall take steps in consultation with His Britannic Majesty's Government to secure the co*operation of all Jews who are willing to assist in the establishment of the Jewish national home.
ARTICLE 5. The Mandatory shall be responsible for seeing that no Palestine territory shall be ceded or leased to, or in any way placed under the control of the Government of any foreign Power.
ARTICLE 6. The Administration of Palestine, while ensuring that the rights and position of other sections of the population are not prejudiced, shall facilitate Jewish immigration under suitable conditions and shall encourage, in co*operation with the Jewish agency referred to in Article 4, close settlement by Jews on the land, including State lands and waste lands not required for public purposes.
ARTICLE 7. The Administration of Palestine shall be responsible for enacting a nationality law. There shall be included in this law provisions framed so as to facilitate the acquisition of Palestinian citizenship by Jews who take up their permanent residence in Palestine.

4 ) as the end of the Mandatory period drew to a close, arab factions declared their intention to create an ARAB MOSLEM STATE in the levant, while the jews were predictably unhappy with the british double crossing them on a deal that had consumed massive amounts of jewish monies from around the world, and had resulted in massive butthurt among the jews who were rapidly being surrounded by invading arabs, each one of whom was claiming ancient rights and heritage, as soon as they stepped off the boat or camel that brought them to the levant from parts unknown.
5 ) when the mandatory period ended, arabs threw a riot, intending to establish dominance over the jews. the jews responded, and that response was "disproportionate" and quite successful, the arabs were overthrown, and israel became a nation, despite britain's dastardly and underhanded doublecross.
