My former career involved chemistry.
I thought mine would. What did you do?My former career involved chemistry.
When it was apparent we would have a health care bill I was recruited into informatics to combat meaningful use. I'm presently doing clinical analyst for physicians offices which pay almost double what I made as a staff PT. Same situation as yours, I make good money holding my nose while working. I get to explain to the doctor why he was reimbursed at a lower rate because his front office staff didn't click whether that asian was hispanic or non-hispanic or he let his nurse send too high a percentage of his e-prescribed under her log instead of his. The practice of medicine is so much more than pt/provider anymore.Good job, I look back and wish I had gone to pt school. Instead I work for "big coal" and have to make a lot of the things they do appear to be not so bad. Pays well.
I didn't experiment with drugs, it was more like full scale research. My former career involved chemistry.
Something like 95% of pharmacists, who don't open up their own pharmacy make between 90 and 110k. Not that this is chump change, but you are basically locked into a salary. The only other rout is to go academic, research and publish. Get good and you are suddenly writing text books, and cashing large royalty checks for a very long time. The only problem for me here is my disgust with the idea of working in academia. When it was apparent we would have a health care bill I was recruited into informatics to combat meaningful use. It's golden handcuffs I'm trying break from. I feel your pain. My megamillions plan hasn't panned out yet, so I'm still searching.
If I had your background and wanted to get in the medical field I would recommend pharmacist. PT is fun and rewarding though, I will never give that up completely.
I've come to accept that when one party is mad at the other, it isn't because of what the other party is doing, it's because the other party is doing it.As much as liked to lay ALL the blame on democrats, our fellow citizens demanded SOMETHING!! and supported the ACA in spite of what they were being told by us in the industry. You'll meet those people here if you stick around The republican ideas for central planning were almost as puke worthy.
I'm starting to accept that this is the country we live in now, but my acceptance is coming kicking and screaming. I just wish the "party of tolerance" would only force their way on each other, not the rest of us too. I agreed with them when they complained about moral majority trying to make them live in ways that they thought best, I was taken aback when they pulled it themselves as soon as they were in power.
a stimulus and a bail out are two different things.I've come to accept that when one party is mad at the other, it isn't because of what the other party is doing, it's because the other party is doing it.
They both do the same things.
When Obama got elected by running against bush, then kept doing all the things he ran against, it was the lightbulb moment for me.
Remember what a big issue gitmo was in '08? It is still there.
Rendition, still doing it.
War, still fighting.
Patriot act, still good law.
The bail out, Obama did his own, even bigger.
I just can't in good conscious support a party who had a kkk member elected to the united states senate as recently as the 2000's.
But in reality there is no important difference between the parties. They are both only interested in maintaining power.
If we had a healthy government I wouldn't be supportive of him, but with the way things are I wish Ron Paul could get into office.
People say I was on drugs. That was not my position. i was actually all around drugs.I didn't experiment with drugs, it was more like full scale research.

I did bench chemistry, organic synthesis to support healthcare.I thought mine would. What did you do?
I have a job - won't go into a lot of detail there - with a major energy company in the eastern united states. In other words, I'm involved with big coal.
Most of what I do is sugar coat reports and tests. Our company paid millions of dollars to a hydrodynamics firm to calculate the best location along streams for positioning of specific equipment that generates runoff.
The EPA measures the stream for certain things at a certain distance down stream. Well within a stream there is the capability for anything that is put into it to either spread out across the entire stream, or to concentrate in a "jet" of water running narrowly down stream, and thus not spreading out widely.
This can result in lower levels showing up in the tests than are actually introduced to the stream. It means they can pollute more.
