Yeah, the fact that the IOC agreed to put the Olympics in a place that, for all intents and purposes, did not exist seven years ago might be important depending what happens next. Clearly the IOC was taking in bags of cash.
But the history of the Sochi games has not yet been written - grousing journalists aside. If Putin can get out of this with only "face damaging water" it will be a big win for him.
If this thing blows up, the IOC may come under some heavy scrutiny. The Chinese pulled it off without a hitch, let's see what happens.
I'm thinking something bad is pretty likely. And that sucks. Because this isn't supposed to be political.
I salute you Olympians, especially those of you that have temporarily given up the benefits of this sweet, sweet weed in order to compete (I'm looking at you snowboarders). Kick some ass!
