The problem is the current distribution of wealth, which is ironic because that's all conservatives talk about, except they want it to keep going the other way

Wealth is not a fixed number. Wealth is created. If you disagree, how did we go from having nothing to being so wealthy over 300 years??
I went from making nothing to making over 60K per year in less than 3 years by starting small businesses. Now the limit is based on how much time I want to put into it.
You keep trying to tell other people how to run businesses, what to pay people, etc. If it is so damn easy then just start your own business.
But you getting a college degree is pointless because you will be unemployed with a huge amount of debt and in the same hole you have created for yourself now.
You keep looking for a loophole when hard work is the only way up unless you win the lottery.
You say my head is in the sand but I am happily employed doing what I choose to do making more money than I need. If that is the definition of head in the sand, so be it...

You are implying that my generation does not work hard whenever you repeat "all it takes is hard work" - guess what! We've been working hard and more of us are riding the poverty line than ever with no medical benefits. That is proof positive that it requires more than just hard work to financially succeed in this country in 2014, and that is the point I am trying to get across that you simply don't seem to want to accept

i don't think min wage is supposed to be a living wage to rase a family on , raising min wage closses the gap between my wage and min wage , it also will increase the cost of living making my dollar worth less

That is a great point many people overlook. Minimum wage jobs are intended to be a stepping stone to bigger and better things.
I think the proponents for higher minimum wage are more for penalizing the business owner than helping the employee, just my opinion.

Funny, I went to a University that I could never have if I had to pay for it. The bootstrap argument applies to scholarships too. There is no reason why everyone can't just do what I did.

Again, the scholarship suggestion would work for a few students, but not everyone.. It fails to address the majority of students who would not qualify or receive a scholarship to pay for school
It's like putting a band aid on a bullet wound
Don't you think we should make school cheaper instead of telling kids to take out loans? Don't you think an educated population is better than an uneducated population? Shouldn't we be trying to make the route to get there as easy as possible for students? Innovation leads to new technology, new technology leads to new jobs, new jobs lead to a stronger economy.. It follows that education should be the main focus and spending $200 per textbook and $140 for parking is absolute madness

How did I have an advantage over you? I just started my businesses 3 years ago. Are you saying things have changed that fast??
The problems that are creating lack of jobs is lack of investment capital, excessive regulation, Obamacare & people demanding more money regardless of what a job actually produces... What incentive do employers have to hire people right now??
You demand higher wages and you will have less jobs at the higher wage. How does a higher minimum wage help you if you still cant find a job??
You are the one that is having a problem getting a good job. Many people here are making suggestions and instead of listening and trying to help yourself you spend your time arguing with them. Maybe that is part of the problem right there eh??

Just about all the people i know are pretty successful.
The one thing all of them have in common is, they are go getters, they always figure out a way to solve problems and get around obstacles instead of focusing on why they can't.

Education is not accessible and scholarships are intended to shop out less than 2%. It was sarcastic, it is a bullshit argument. If everyone got scholarships college would just be free. The cost of education in terms of societal value is immeasurable.

I agree. I wouldn't have a problem paying higher taxes to ensure high school kids who want to go to college could go, I realize that having an educated population makes my life better in the long run, as well as the rest of the country as a whole
