Wassup RIU I'm back. It's been a very long time since I've done anything related to growing, about four years so I've gotta itch that I gotta scratch lol :lol:. I've been on this site for a very long but never recorded any of my grows. I've always used this site for info purposes but I'm gonna record a journal from start to finish. I've always been a soil grower as it was easy and didn't require a lot of maintenance as I couldn't dedicate my time fully to my girls. During my hiatus, I stumbled across a journal on how to grow a pound from one plant. The grower was Flowamaster and he really inspired me to grow hydro and achieve big yields while doing it. So my new grow will be an exact copy of his Recirculating Hempy Style Hydro Setup but it won't be in a tent, it will be in a closet.





My Setup Consists Of:
Closet size: 5ft x 4ft x 9ft
1000Watt HPS w/air cooled hood
18gal buckets & 9gal res
12in feed ring draining through bottom
pot & recirculating to res
100% Perlite & CYCO NUTRIENT
Growing from seed G13 Labs Pineapple Express (fem)




I've had this seed for about a year as I was planning to start growing last year; it didn't happen but I'm here now so that's all that matters. I have a HSO Blue Dream fem, World of Seeds NL X Skunk fem and Female Seeds White Widow fem that I've had since my last grow four years ago. That WW was straight fire and I can't wait too grow her again. I usually just grow fem since I have no room for mothers but will one day but until then it's fems.

Updating with progress. Seed popped already which is good. Didn't wanna have to pop my other seeds but everything is underway and is going good. Haven't filled up my tubs with the perlite yet as my seed hasn't sprouted to a plant. It's now sitting under 300w of fluorescent lights in a hempy cup. Spraying perlite to keep it moist and now I'm just waiting for her to grow some legs. Should be up in the next couple of days. Will update with pics of everything once she goes in her finale home.

Here's some pics of the setup. Really wish I could get those 50 liter pots with no holes in them like Flowamasta and the other Aussie growers use. I was going to use the plastic buckets with rope handles but they weren't gonna last long at all so I used some Rubbermaid totes. Hopefully these work good. The cardboard over the exhaust ducting is to block light from leaking in during the dark cycle. The ducting is clear, it was FREE :) from my hydro store from my rewards points so I couldn't complain :). Everything is ready to go; he girl is growing some legs a lil and has poked her head through. Gonna wait a few more days before I put her in her final home.

Thx man appreciate it. Glad to be back growing. This is a new style for me so I'm gonna need all the help I can get fareal. I think I'll be ok long as I keep my ph where it needs to be I'll be good.

Update


I've moved the baby girl into her final home in the closet. She has adjusted to the 1000w really well which will help speed up her growth as her baby leaves are standing up :). I added a very very weak feed to the res to get her going. I am really loving this recirculating hempy style setup that was provided by one of the best growers on here in Flowamasta. It really does all the work while you wit back and enjoy the view of watching a beautiful plant grow. Will be sticking to hydro from now on and thx to Flowamasta as this would not have been to happen without him. Will update with pix later as I'm using my iPhone right now and I'm waiting on my new modem and computer.

DAY 1 Veg




She's just a baby but she really loving the 1000w HPS and the new home. Her first set of leaves are standing up very nice now I'm just wanting for her to grow and show some sexy legs :). Hopefully the weak feed doesn't bother her if it does I'll just flush and just go weaker but she should be fine. Will update in a few days

Update DAY 3 Veg


2nd leaf set is shooting through now. She's still standing up very perky towards the light :). The weak feed seemed to do her really well and she's moving right along. Will flush in a few days and give her some fresh nutes.

Holy cow man! 1000 watts on one plant? You're trying to grow a monster! and you will! Def gonna sub this one haha can't wait to see how it turns out :weed:

180 cubed feet total area
1000w (50w/sq ft) Good light intensity.
4 x 5ft (1.22 x 1.52m = 1.85m2)
20 x 9ft (1.85 x 2.75m = 5.1m3)

180 x 1.25= 225cfm
5.1 x 1.25 x 60 = 383m3/hr
A 6"RvK and 6" Carbon Filter is necessary for this space....
What will you do for ventilation (air exchange, odour control, heat suppression....)???

ONE PLANT is an incredibly inefficient use of the space.
The same energy (for the light and ventilation) could grow 12 plants
as easily as just the one....

But, if you have set your heart on trying a certain method,
and efficiency is not a priority for you....

You are right about one plant being inefficient use of space but Im not trying to fit enough plants in there to use up the space. Once the plant grows and gets big her canopy will stretch across the light coverage and use up most of the space and light. Plus with the system I have there's no way I could fit that amount of plants maybe two at the most. I have an 8" fan exhausting the heat from the light through ducting attached to the door. The fan works really well because the temps are between 75-80 with lights on 67-75 with lights off. Im gonna add another fan to the door to bring in fresh air soon once she gets much bigger but glad your following along because this is my first time with hydro so Im curious too lol:) I think you will be surprised in the end how well this one plant will do in this space with the 1000w hps.

Lol :) the Last Samurai lol!!! she's really loving the perlite her roots are stretching for the nutrient water like crazy. She should take off in the next few days

Whew she is definitely going to be a beauty. I have my own G13 PE along with some others just a few days behind im interested to see yours good luck!

Yea man one plant and I think I will be too. This style is all new to me so I'm anxious to see how this does. Do you have a journal for the PE fem would love to see how yours is doing. Good luck to you too bro and Peace
