no kidding..however, on the off chance you read the article you'd see how this makes sense..anyone care for meaningful debate this morning or just straw man conversation?
You propose to raise the price of food that poor people have to buy to provide more money to poor people.

You are robbing from the poor to pay the poor.

Do you have a meaningful debate you wish to enter into this morning?

It is Economics... If you make jobs more expensive there will be less of them. The only people that are saying that it will be opposite is politicians who are lying to you. It is simple economics and common sense.

Everything in the Obama administration is force. He is forcing the American people to buy healthcare, forcing American businesses to pay higher wages and lower hourly rates to avoid bankruptcy. And then he blames the very businesses his policies have caused to stop hiring.

Also, how exactly did McDonalds cost the taxpayer $1.2billion?

You mean the people who fell for the bullshit "Would you like a career with that?" advertising campaign cost the taxpayer $1.2 billion by getting a job that couldn't provide for themselves.

Schuylar, honestly, I used to work a shitty minimum wage job as a single parent and I upskilled (for the sake of my family, instead of just using them as an excuse) and now do something completely different and make shitloads.

Iv also never claimed welfare even tho it's ridiculously generous over here and I'd have easily gotten it.

Its a lifestyle choice, simple as that. I studied hard and made something of myself, other lazy fucks just simply don't.

Managing is a trade craft, my friend. Best get started early, learning how to herd the Cats.
Doer, you are the first person I've ever heard call management a skilled trade.
I consider a skilled trade to be a manual worker who has proven themselves in a particular skill or craft, e.g. welder, brick mason, carpenter, etc.
Managers typically oversee and direct tradesmen, at least that's what I've always thought.

Trademen arnt as well trained as you let on, in medieval times tradesmen were something to respect, nowadays anyone can do it, it's basic DIY most of them do.

Brick mason? We call that a labourer.

Carpenter? You mean someone who nails pre-cut wood together?

Modern tradesmen don't deserve the "nobility" conferred to them by the unwashed masses like you, their professions have been so dumbed down in modern times that the people that go for those jobs are the ones who couldn't do any better in school.

You have never managed. So, you don't know what it is. I call trade craft, like the KGB and CIA call their wild ride.

You haven't done and like others think there is no skill involved.

But, I tell you, that is a crafty cover, trade craft, of what we really do. It all takes place behind the backs of the workers, nothing, really, is ever revealed. And it ain't easy, I'll tell you that.

In 2 words, what we do is Sort Ambiguity. And we pretend like we know all, see all. But, our level is keep in the dark also.

It is more of a skill than labor, and I am remodeling my house, myself, so I know.

Hard to argue most of your points, since I agree with you.
However, here in the states, at least on the west coast, we distinguish tradesmen from a craftsman and most certainly from a "master craftsman"

Find a 5 hr MBA overview. Then you don't need the MBA. What you need is the sheep dip. Experience in a Jr capacity, like MacD. Or I did years as a Program Manager. All the responsibility of management, but no authority. Management is not for everyone. Helps to be a bit taller, but required, is a bit more sneaky and amoral outlook than average. Few are called, few are chosen. Many are dismissed. Dismissed for the mess, I say. :)

To be quite frank, I've never been an attorney, but I know they're not considered a tradesman.
I know you're trying your damndest to make the case, so I'll leave it at that, no worries.
We just have a difference of opinion on management being a skilled trade.
nice! doer:clap: guess they don't know what an MBA is:lol:
And what trade or vocational school would you attend for your MBA?

just keep telling yourself that, kynes next time you order something of the dollar menu..
Its funny to think that raising min Wage for McDonalds will ONLY cause a $1 rise in McDonald's Prices.

LOL it doesn't work that way, it causes a 13% rise in EVERYTHING, not just a big mac meal, over a short period and you end up actually WORSE off than you were before., but if the Fed didn't create inflation ON PURPOSE( diametrically opposed to is mandated mission), we wouldn't be having this discussion. Everyone would have had 100 years of increasing prosperity for all, but since the Fed, only the top 1% gets the goods.

or just straw man conversation?
OMG stop using "straw man" you don't know what it is, your just using that word because you think you know what it is, yet you have not correctly applied it ever.

A straw man would be something like this:

[h=1]strawman[/h] [h=3]You misrepresented someone's argument to make it easier to attack.[/h] By exaggerating, misrepresenting, or just completely fabricating someone's argument, it's much easier to present your own position as being reasonable, but this kind of dishonesty serves to undermine honest rational debate.
Example: After Will said that we should put more money into health and education, Warren responded by saying that he was surprised that Will hates our country so much that he wants to leave it defenseless by cutting military spending.

Assistant Manager for $10 a hour?

She is experienced in management, she could walk into a similar position elsewhere so if she chooses to work for peanuts then that's her choice.

Why is she crying about her conscious choice?
She has no choice, if she quits her job she can't get unemployment and will certainly starve to death in just a couple of days, people cannot be held responsible for their own lives, that is why we have government to do that for us. That is why we turn to gubbermint to have them "Solve" all of our problems.

People are not allowed to quit their jobs at McDonalds/Donut shops to work elsewhere, they are trapped, isn't it obvious?

The only thing the Min Wage really improves is the amount of tax money the government brings in, that's the only reason to really raise the wage, and at this point the USA could really really use the extra tax income. Of course this is more palatable when they tell you its for your own good, but they lie, they always lie.
