my friends doing the grow with me he's brought down 18 50L bags of soil. I haven't thought too much about soil prep, I've never grown outside my friend has.Avoid hollands hope(less), it will not flower in time. Purple maroc is a winner, its virtually bomb-proof.
Onyx and Mi5 are good bets if you want to go down the auto-flower route.
What soil prep are you thinking of doing?
I wonder if the PURPLE MAROC is mostly a Moroccan Sativa that has had something else crossed into it....NoE, without experience growing it i would agree, but having grown it and seen countless examples of its success i can vouch for it.
Heard good things about DP as well...
just looked back to see what strain i did out side and had good results it was a.m.s from greenhouseI'm thinking of doing a outdoor grow this year, it's near a quarry so I will be using my own soil. I think I will grow the chosen strains to a certain height but not too big because its quite a walk to get too.
Does anyone have any grows in the UK under their belt or know of any good strains that will grow well in the UK weather?
Any advice welcome. It will be my first outdoor grow.
Did a Super Silver Haze once, didn't have a chance to finish flowering before the frost set in, so I wouldn't recommend that one. However, Auto-flowering strains I would think are ideal, given that the UK usually has a mediocre summer. I wouldn't go by what happened last year, in the South of England, we had a very good summer last year and didn't get a frost until mid November. I was kicking myself for not doing an outdoor grow last year, I really was. I wouldn't think it'll be like that again this year though.I'm thinking of doing a outdoor grow this year, it's near a quarry so I will be using my own soil. Don't think I'm going to go for an auto, prefer photo-periods. Think I'm going to stick with purple maroc. Going to look at the chosen place next weekend, so can figure out how to do things. It's just a bit of fun. Have always wanted to try and do a grow outside.I would always recommend doing photo-periods over autos in the UK. Autos just don't have the mold resistance necessary in our climate, especially in a mediocre summer. They can literally turn to mush in a few days of terrible weather. Plus, the seeds are more expensive and get a lower yield.
That being said, they can work well for a fast and stealthy smoke.
