Well its wrong to be a Christian.....Are you proud of all the people murdered in the name of the mystical invisible man in the sky? Tourtued until they say there is a god then killed anyway................Smoke the weed there will be no concequences for your action........IF and I say that very loosely IF there was a god I would spit in his face and call him a cocksucker for all the bullshit he has done to ruin this world.......Genecide.......rape....slavery........kill keveyrthing he dont like just for...........demands you obey him or you will burn in hell......fuck him..........enjoy life.....everyone on this SITE IS AN ATHIEST PERIOD......so dont go and get high and mighty and rip me apart........well you can I dont care.....he asked a question in open forum and I am answering it..........SMOKE THE WEED and feel FREE.

If you believe in God, you have chosen to reject Allah, Vishnu, Budda, Waheguru and all of the thousands of other gods that other people worship today. It is quite likely that you rejected these other gods without ever looking into their religions or reading their books. You simply absorbed the dominant faith in your home or in the society you grew up in.
In the same way, the followers of all these other religions have chosen to reject God. You think their gods are imaginary, and they think your God is imaginary.
In other words, each religious person on earth today arbitrarily rejects thousands of gods as imaginary, many of which he/she has never even heard of, and arbitrarily chooses to "believe" in one of them.

The following quote from Stephen F. Roberts sums up the situation very nicely:
  • "I contend that we are both atheists. I just believe in one fewer god than you do. When you understand why you dismiss all the other possible gods, you will understand why I dismiss yours."
A rational person rejects all human gods equally, because all of them are equally imaginary. How do we know that they are imaginary? Simply imagine that one of them is real. If one of these thousands of gods were actually real, then his followers would be experiencing real, undeniable benefits. These benefits would be obvious to everyone. The followers of a true god would pray, and their prayers would be answered. The followers of a true god would therefore live longer, have fewer diseases, have lots more money, etc. There would be thousands of statistical markers surrounding the followers of a true god.
Everyone would notice all of these benefits, and they would gravitate toward this true god. And thus, over the course of several centuries, everyone would be aligned on the one true god. All the other false gods would have fallen by the wayside long ago, and there would be only one religion under the one true god.
When we look at our world today, we see nothing like that. There are two billion Christians AND there are more than one billion Muslims, and their religions are mutually exclusive. There are thousands of other religions. When you analyse any of them, they all show a remarkable similarity -- there is zero evidence that any of these gods exist. That is how we know that they are all imaginary.

I'm pretty sure that 10% of people are also the ones who fall into pyramid schemes.. they're weak minded and unable to produce self control.. marijuana has no physical dependency therefore mind over matter.. :eyesmoke:

I can't find where in the word it says not to smoke.
(It does say that the drink is not good for a King but it can be fitting for a sad man.)
Jesus hung with whores and thieves and tax collectors, he wants your love and because he loves you he wants what is best for you and he knows none of us are sin-free. What's best for you isn't good for someone else. This is a very personal matter. Go to God with this question, and remember Jesus loves you.
Also remember in the end of the book how upset with the churches Jesus is. Don't let the church be a barometer for your actions, let your relationship with God guide your actions.

Haha..oh well. From what I can tell the Christians and infidels here all agree, smoke it.

Stoned Pony you might enjoy a little book called "Foxe's Book of Martyrs" it is a historical account of Christians who have been tortured, raped, killed for being Christian.

And what's the phucked up thing? It's mostly "christians" who are attacking other "Christians." I mean like, chain people in a dungeon, peel their skin off in strips slowly over time and have "surgeons" around to stitch them back up just to do it again. Deep.

Read yor bible! GOD, the ChristianGod, I'm Catholic btw, CREATED marijuana. Maybe God's intentions were purely medicinal, and man decided it was great for pleasure, too. Maybe God wanted us to use it socially. No one can know for sure. However, YOU can be 100% sure GOD made weed and put it on this earth. JMHO!
And just to put " me" into context with you, I went to Catholic Schools from 2 nd grade until graduation, Church, all of it. I have been smoking, except while pregnant, for 20 years. I take care of my kids, at home and am kind to my fellow man, even my Hubby, haha. I do all I need to do to make sure my family is thriving in all ways. If GOD would like to send me to Hell for utilizing something He put on this Earth, which helps keep me sane raising 4 kids, plus all their friends, then so be it.
I, personally don't think that would happen.

I just started myself and I am a Christian.

I started after I watched the documentary called "The Union".

I think if Christians were educated about the plant and come to realize that it doesnt cause brain damage, lung cancer or harsh addiction(caffine has a much harder withdrawl than cannabis), then they would stop the fight against it.

Also we are stopping as a human race from discovering the true medical capabilities of this plant. Just watch this...

IMO no book or religion is relevant, especially when seeking out GOD. If you feel close to God, your concience will tell you if it is right. You obviously have misgivings about weed, but searching for the 'right' church with agrees with you to absolve your concience is nonsense. Whats more important, living within someone elses approval culture or being able to live with yourself? Religion stifles reasoning. Religion is NOT faith. God gave you a brain to think for yourself, not to follow others. Sorry if this offends, but the more buildings and people we enlist to find 'God', the more DISTANCE there is between you and the creator. Seek his and your own truth, not someone elses.

It's "Torah" and it's five books. :) Whether it's wrong for a Christian to smoke weed or not is up to them. The Torah (or entire Tanakh) not only does not forbid it but it is one of the commanded ingredients of the Holy anointing oil. That being said, most Christians miss the whole idea of "sin" and most don't actually know how God defines it. Paul said that the *weaker* brother abstains from meats (in case it may have been offered to idols); he also said that if we partake of something and believe we are sinning, it *is* a sin (rebellion). John defined sin as violation of Torah - not what some baptist preacher says it is. God created this incredible medicine for mankind to show his love and concern for our welfare. The only sin is that it was made illegal, saying that God was wrong when it declared it "very good".
