I feel sort of bad saying this, but I have an insanely full life and a group of great friends I hardly ever get to see. I already have so many people in my life I want to spend time with and can't that I don't really have time to develop new relationships right now. Plus, I'm broke too, and I smoke, but I'm insanely motivated and genuinely living my dream and busting my ass to do it. I need to have people around me who are doing the same, and who are actively engaged in making art or books or music or doing scientific research and working hard to get those things out into the world. That's just where I'm coming from right now. And yes, I'm single, but it's by choice; I came out of a major relationship less than a year ago and I have zero interest in dating anyone at all right now.
It was nice talking to you on the phone, but I kind of felt like I was just talking about what I did. No offense, but when you're a girl and you tell a guy you're a dancer, he tends to immediately obsess on it and ask you if you're single. Your reaction was one I get a lot of. EVERYONE is fascinated by it! I do hope you'll find some dance to watch if you really do have an interest.
And last but not least -- forgive me, I'm a writer, I'm a spelling fanatic -- it's "maybe." As in, "it may be." That's the root of the word.
I don't mind sending you a few of these seeds if you give me your address.

I'm a bit confused, when you last wrote me you told me I was arrogant and you were happily single and the fact that I was a dancer was a turnoff and you weren't asking me out. Now you *were* asking me out and suddenly you respect me. It seems like you're loving me one minute and hating me the next and this is all on the basis of one phone conversation!! I was happy to give you some seeds, but you stood me up, didn't call, and then sent me an email telling me how unattractive I am. I am a woman you've never met! Please don't invest these huge emotions in every woman with whom you have a conversation -- at least try actually meeting them first!

I was ignoring him through all of this. I really debated posting this; I didn't want to perpetuate the drama. But the vitriol is getting so out of control I felt I should post this now to warn and hopefully protect other women. PLEASE, WOMEN, WATCH OUT HERE!!!!!!! This is, unfortunately, the kind of thing that can happen when you turn a guy down. I was an idiot -- NEVER give anyone you meet online your phone number!!!
