That is probably what people are doing with C99 to get the extra edge @day 54, maybe? I dunno.
I quickdried myself a dry gram to try... agh, the mass loss is more jarring with a quick dry, haha. I don't know if that's because of the contrast or because i'm dry
I'll put some of this through the vape after dinner and see what's up... I'll snap a pic or two before hand too... looks pretty nice dried, especially for a quick dry... it is some fluffy sativa lower-branch stuff, though, so it's pretty light. Stuff looks pretty nice despite that though, fo sho.
Humidity's starting to come up just in time for drying this batch... been at like 25% for months... the extra humidity will be very welcome in a drying environment.

Oh man, this stuff tastes good. Way better than my last batch of c99, lol. I definitely let that shit overmature.
I'm doing vape hits of course, since it's quick dried, but the flavor is there, very nice...

Tolerance is kinda up, wasn't the first hit of the day which makes it a hard read... but I'm enjoying what I'm getting so far... I only vaped 0.22g of it but I feel it for sure. I'll go ahead and step it up a bit farther here...
It starts out kind of a fruity... definitely detect the grapefruit'ish edge I've heard some describe... it tapers off to an almost tobacco-like undertone at the end... I noticed this about it last time too... it doesn't "stay sweet" post-vape like the more indica strains. Actually now that I think about it I know what it reminds me of... it's got the faintest reminiscence of salvia.
I do detect a little trip in it too, even at this low dose... in fact as soon as I recognized the flavor as reminding me of salvia I got a boost, haha. Maybe placebo.

Back again... haha... love that sativa motivating high, I jammed and practiced guitar/singing for two hours after that additional vape load, and didn't even finish it.
Definitely a good high... I got a little psychedelic edge maybe but not strong... then again it was really a paltry dose overall, for my tolerance levels so who knows... I'm strongly considering cutting her down tomorrow. I'll have to finish this gram before I decide.

ANYWAY-- right now my vape is the portable Arizer Solo. It's pretty nice... I have some complaints but it works pretty well and has effectively replaced my DaBuddha whip-style plug in unit which just died... the solo has become my go-to unit... portability is a HUGE boon for a vaporizer... ESPECIALLY an herb vaporizer because it can take a while to get a full high through several slow hits through herb and it's really nice to have the flexibility of taking it with you or even just moving around a house OR EVEN just moving around a ROOM without the restriction of a cord.
The bowl size is a little small... and it sort of needs a stir-and-repack once through like any herb unit would generally. And if you try to pack only a little (I get pretty stingy with my bowl packs when I am almost out to make it last longer) it tends to need more herb after a hit because with the reduced mass it can't really provide a good "screen" across the surface area at that point. That's an issue with most herb-style vapes though I guess.
Let's see... it's fairly discreet I guess. Not really "hit it in the open" discreet like a pen-style oil vape, but also not "holy shit look at that guy smoking weed" obvious either... most people wouldn't guess what it was probably, especially if the glass straw part is clean.
--which brings me to another point about the bowl design, which is that it has a 'glass screen' built in (basically the bowl has a glass floor with four small holes in it) which is really nice in terms of never having to clean a screen but it lets a fair amount of plant matter through over the course of many sessions. Probably could scrape it for a killer bowl at this point, if I had a good tool to get in there around the curve. (There is a straight straw too but the suck-throughs go in my mouth with the straight straw--they get caught in the bend in the curved straw, so I don't end up with it in my mouth, which is nice.)
There are some weird quirks to it that I don't like... for instance, the weed is basically upside down and packed in with force only into the bottom of the straw. So when you set the thing down, you have to do so very gently to avoid jarring. If you jar it enough, a little (or all, if you smash it) of the weed in the bowl can fall down onto the surface of the stainless steel heating element surface and start to over-vape. (I haven't had it burn but definitely gives a nasty taste.)
It also has an auto-shutdown feature that turns it off after 12 minutes. This is good for battery life (which I will discuss in a moment) but it's sort of counter-intuitive as it seems to shut off 12 minutes after you turn it on regardless... often in the middle of a session, which requires I go through the "turn on" process again... sometimes I don't notice it turned off until I finish a draw and realize I only got a little as I had sucked all the heat out of the element, which was now off. I guess this is the best they could do since it can't detect your last hit since it's always ready and there's no 'hit button' electronically speaking.
The battery life leaves something to be desired, honestly. It's not bad, but for a heavy user it's not really satisfactory. IF one were using the solo ONLY for travel and had a nice home rig they used primarily, I think the battery life would be alright. But as my primary device, I have to charge it 2x a day. Honestly wouldn't be that big a deal if they made a nice desktop charging cradle that I could just pop it in whenever I wasn't using it like a portable phone. With just a standard a/c plug I tend to not bother getting up to plug it back in each time.
Aaaaanyway... *sativa* ... It hits pretty well if you have good breath control, like most breath-controlled vapes. Unfortunately that also means that the higher I get the worse I hit it, heh. So there's a sort of point of diminishing returns. I preferred my old heatgun setup over all breath-controlled methods, personally. (Poor man's volcano basically.)
I'm planning to step up soon, haen't decided to what yet... I want to just go to dabs but I cringe at the idea of putting my nice buds through extraction so I'll probably need something to vape my buds too... so I might spring for a volcano or something when the money's right...

Definitely gonna be slimmer than I'd hoped initially but it's all good... live and learn more and more, haha. I think that I would have gotten a lot more mass if I had more even colas, maybe. Then again, we'll see how much weight is in the big one. And there's something fun about growing big ones, so I don't mind.
Really though, with C99's ridiculously thin stem structures I bet it would do amazingly in a scrog... ah well, this is probably my end with C99 for now... I am looking forward to playing with cheeseberry haze tho...

I figure this way I atleast have a chance of getting a little extra weight out of it even if the high changes... kinda worth it because if I bothered to take these it would have been like a couple grams extra max... would rather take my chances on more yield from what's left than only top off a couple extra grams now.

Oh, I forgot to mention, not pictured there was another like.. handful of small buds that I tossed in the dehydrator to quick dry at 95 degrees because I'm out and will need something to toke on while the rest finishes... heh. Honestly stuff comes out of there pretty decent tasting if you are going to vaporize it.

Yeah, it's not great. haha. You have to basically hit the vape so much that you're basically air drying the bud before you vape it, haha. (so might as well quick dry first.) It's pretty unpleasant tasting. The last couple hits will give you something decent, once it's dry from the first four that will basically be plant-flavored moisture clouds, heh.
The quickdry stuff is still kinda leafy tasting but it's not vegetabley. That's what I'd say fresh vaped tastes like, like I'm vaping steamed vegetables, heh.
Seems like the only way to really utilize fresh bud is if you freeze it and extract... or I guess you could make butter. otherwise you gotta dry it somehow first.

Hmm... the grasshopper looks decent, some cool ideas implemented, but I'm weary of such a tiny unit being able to really live up to it's promises of effectivity on a plant matter vape at this point. I'd love to try one tho. Let me know what you think if you get it.

Curious as to what you don't like about the pax? I've had mine for 2 years now and love it. I had a faulty mouthpiece issue to but I just called ploom and they gave me 2 new pieces under warranty and 10 packs of lube and cleaning kit free. If you clean it once in awhile it has no problems.
Oh and it looks like you might be waiting longer for the grasshopper.

............the biggest flaw is the charging stand, which allows all the gunk to run into the "electronics", once flipped 180 degrees it alleviates most of the issues; can thank some stoner I met @ a party for that gem. I never buy the first run of an electronic product.......like others to do the beta test for me..........ha
