We do not recognize that slavery exists, but it still has a very strong presence in America. Some people recognize wage slavery, but that is just the tip of the iceburg. Some people don't get wages, and are working for a better future.
Where this is most obvious is in the work for welfare program and in trap houses. People work JUST to fill their stomachs, not to get a better life, not to get things they want, to get food. And in the case of trap houses, just for a bed and a fix of whatever you are addicted to and maybe a party on the weekend.
But we don't see this. People doing things that ONLY benefit another person, not a situation where the worker gets an unfair pay compared to the boss, this is a situation where the boss gets EVERYTHING and the employee gets to live a little longer
Then there are people raising their kids like this. We live in a world based on credit scores, and there are people putting 18 year old kids into the world with NO credit score, no car, no credit card, no money. Your kids only option at that point is to beg for change, or hope they get a job before it's been 2 years and everyone wonders "Why haven't you worked in 2 years" and doesn't want to hire them. Which leads to the modern issue of kids living at home until they are 40, or begging for change. It's not that you have a stupid kid, you are a slave driver.
Unless you bought your kid an Xbox Live or WoW subscription when they were 5 and that lead to them being a 40 year old at home, that's not a slave, that's a slave driver you are raising.
