Hello again folks. Apologies for the long lull there. I quit my job a month ago and have been working major overtime to build a new design/development portfolio. So anyhow, I've had little time to post anything here.

Today I'm taking a much-needed break and thankfully the forums are working again.

Here's the final update from the first round with the Ganjatica! (No fancy photos this time though, as I only had time to snap a few quick shots with my phone.)

Harvest Day:

And the final haul:

All together it's going to be about 12-14oz dry. The buds are ridiculously dense, so I'm freezer-curing to ensure zero mold. This is by far the stickiest bud I've grown in the last few years.

This round was only 4 main plants, plus a few little lolly-pops I flowered out 12/12 from seed for pheno-hunting purposes. I took the best Bubba Kush pheno of that group and tossed it into the veggie bin a couple months ago. Since then that plant grew into a nice bushy momma, which was just chopped up a bit to create 8 large Bubba Clones. Of these 8, I'll select the strongest 6 for the next round under the Ganjatica.

I'm now totally confident the Ganjatica can pull over a pound (dry) with the full 6 plants it was designed for (and an extra week or two of vegging).

It's an elegant light, for a more civilized age.

Nice haul! "the buds are ridiculously dense" I agree, one thing I always have to remind myself, all else being equal LED buds are denser. I had a plant that I was disappointed in the looks of the whole way through, but in the end it yielded 2 zips of the dankest bud I could imagine and no larf.

I am way impressed. Question. I see that you used 6 cob leds at 3000k and 2 cob leds at 5000k. How did you come to that determination for the color and the ratio?

I am confused when I see warm white, pure white, cool white... cob leds

I am also further confused by the 3000k. 5000k 10000k and so on

I want to make a bloom flower cob led unit using 4-200w cob leds

What do you recommend for k values?

Most of the DIY guy's(and production panels for that matter) on here are using educated guesses on spectrum choices. A few of them use the spectral distrbution graph from the data sheets to get certain percentages of specific wavelengths.

It's not an easy question to answer. Head over to the LED section if you want more help.

These are approximate

6000k+ = CW
3500-5000= NW
below 4000- 2700= WW

In veg we want ~ 20% blue (~5000-6500K) + ~80% NW

Once buds set, we want more red ~ 60-70% @ 3000K- 2700K

Some believe 660 should make up a big percentage during flower.

I am not among them

See Supra's DIY thread using 3000K to flower

Good work G! I remember you asking lots of questions
during this build and you done well. Like S mentioned
above, I am amazed with the solid flower structure these
emitters produce. Adding some 660's to those 3k's should
put 'Galactica' over the top for calyx development.

Why are you LEDs so far from your ladies? They like LEDs just an inch above the tallest flower.
