I germed it in water and then paper towel and usually when i do this i get a neat little green head outta the soil instead of the seed itself :O

I mean if you google germinating cannabis or look at the millions of grow journals you would see this is very very very very common.
It happens when either there wasn't even humidity to soften the shell and allow it to fall off easily as the plant produces its baby food (small coly leaves)
It also happens when the seed wasn't buried deep enough and when it rises to the top it doesn't grind up against enough soil for the shell to fall off before it reaches to the top.

Yea i think i didnt burry it deep enough, I wasnt concerned that the part of shell was still on it, I was concerned because its growing like parallel to the soil, not upward but to the sides.

Probably feels more heat in that direction or when you watered it, it fell over.
Never water a seedling too much, I just soak the medium prior, that way the roots have a better chance to form, rather than getting soaked and losing traction in the soil.

yea I figured i probly got too much water in it as well as didnt burry deep enough, i read on the forum people say you water the soil til the dish on the bottom shows water... thats a hella water

If you are VERY careful with an exacto knife, you can help split the seed and remove it and also remove the skin that covers the two little cotyledons and will later prevent them from opening.

Replant and hope for the best.

I generally bury mine 1/4 inch down so 9.9 out of 10x the plant pulls it's own shell off when it's done "playing ostrich" (that's what I can it when the stems out and the plan's bent over in an upside down u shape)
If it won't pop off there naturally you can just hit the little shell with misting of water. It'll soften it up in a about a half hour and not to mention loosen up the tiny little membrane inside of it.

Ohhhh, so THAT's how it's supposed to be done! I imagine that warmer water would be better than cold? Or have you noticed that it matters?

Also, I wonder if the seed pops like that sometimes because initially it didn't get enough water to break the shell and skin?

i think room temp water s the best
and no, i soaked the soil wet as fuk cuz i was too stoned when i watered it... so might not be lack of water that caused it

Meh sometimes it happens. I've noticed the only time it's happened for me was back before I knew better and waited for a taproot to pop out of the seed and then I'd bury it. Nowadays I just soak em til they sink and then throw em in soil. It hasn't happened since.

Plants are a lot stronger than you think! It should live. My 2 year old pulled out a week old plant, it was out of the soil overnight, when I woke up and noticed what had been done, i replanted it and it survived!
