Donald Sterling Punishment

Nutes and Nugs

There is a huge double standard in the USA about saying racist remarks...other races are the targets of white people so they are oppressed and they can say shit about our race because "the white man keeps him down"...but God forbid if we even say colored people, or you guys.

We can't go in there all straight-eyed...he'll know something's up.
How true.
And the award goes to Dave Chappell.

Notice how when you say it it's meaningless....when I say it, it really means something.
not willing to concede that.

give me one example of a member who i have called racist and let's examine.

i have gotten a few wrong, but those i currently target are undeniable.

I'm oppressed. Give me money!
your reductionist stereotyping is abhorrent and in no way corresponds with the impressions of minorities i've worked with who you would stereotype in such negative ways.

kelly4, you wanna tell me why you chose not to join sirgreenthumb's group?

Why be racist and attend NBA games?
oh you mean kinda like professing to not be racist and oversee the cotton fields?

didn't cliven bundy say something about whats wrong with blacks these days?..about not having the safety net of a slave owner to take care of them?

I think what the guy said was despicable.

But I think the reaction to it is worse. Don't buy his shit. He shouldn't be fined, and he shouldn't be barred from governing the team he owns.
yeah, like his apartment buildings..not renting to blacks "because they smell"..obviously he learned his lesson being fined from that scandal, right?

I think people are getting the wrong idea. He didn't call anyone nigger or cracker. It was because he told his then girlfriend that she couldn't bring people to the game if they were black.

To me that's worse than calling someone a nigger, to exclude them from something purely based on their skin colour and nothing else. That's going back to days of segregation and the closest thing to that in recent years is apartheid South Africa.

Just my thoughts, would be happy to discuss counter arguments.

are you really trying to compare the word "redneck" to the word "nigger"?

i notice you're complaining of "unfair" and "hypocritical" media coverage, but where were you in the thread about racist right wing extremists like yourself causing more deaths than jihadists, yet getting virtually no coverage along the way?

i think i have identified one person who is a hypocrite, and pretty racist to boot (that would be you).

I think Donald Sterling should be sentenced to cleaning the bathroom floors at Wendy's. That'll teach him.

Sterling is a dipshit, no doubt. However the best way to handle dipshits is to disassociate if you disagree with them. People that don't like his words could boycott his teams games or refuse to play for him if doing so compromises their principles.

His words were unkind and stupid, but he did not act against another person or their property. His "reward" should be ostracism.

However, if he agreed to certain behavior/ conduct rules of the NBA, and broke them, his banishment is justifiable.

I kinda feel like there isn't a clause in the NBA owner contract saying that you cant say anything about your gold digging whore shouldn't be blazen she bangs black dudes after swallowing a load from her rich white pimp.

Or maybe he just didn't want to catch aids to kill him off quicker.

This asshole has a long history of racism.
But for some reason, it did not stop the NAACP from taking his green money?

“This is another example of how the civil rights movement has become an industry,” Riley added. “You have groups like the NAACP, Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, others who basically go around the country shaking down corporations and individuals for money.”

“This guy gave them money,” Reilly said of Sterling, “and that’s what’s most important to them.”

Why own a basketball team if you do not like black people when roughly 85% of the league is black, more than that minorities of some kind.
The league had to take action in my opinion, if they didnt it would just send the message that bigotry is accepted by them and society as a whole.
Funny how people keep saying that if you do not condone his actions then do not support his team. People may choose to ignore the nba entirely if they allow this kind of bigotry to colonize the league so they decided to take a hard swift move with the ban and fine.

What is the difference between this and the boy scouts protecting their organizationcfrom openly gay members? Both are independent organizations and are allowed to govern themselves as they see fit.
Funny how most tea partiers are all for freedom till someone elses freedoms get in the way of theirs....

Donald Sterling is a moron. There are unspoken rules in any society. The sports body has every right to sanction bad behaviour. He's free to say bigoted and stupid stuff (yay free speech!) and they're free to sanction it for tainting the sport and compromising the money flow to investors. Seems straightforward. Now could someone get Bettman alone before he completely ruins hockey?

Before I thoroughly researched the subject, I made a comment. I know, silly me.

now what exactly are you picking at that's related to my ignorant first post?

I already choose to ignore the NBA, due to it being so lame.
