Making your own seeds

On Amazon personally.

But if you like to stay off the radar there's a method involving pure silver and water, you can look up the details very easily

Did a little reading and that stuff looks easy enough to make. No idea how to test the ppm of it though??

Have you had any issues growing out the fem beans that you make? I've run a few fem freebies along the way (and just popped a couple Sugar Punch fems) and I've personally never had any hermie issues ...... but the stories and opinions are out there. What has your experience been?

well, i'm just a pollen chucker, but it's great fun if you like the mystery of what you'll get
but there are some breeders that are dropping the males completely
selecting from femmes only, finding the traits they want, and then the colloidal silver to force them to grow male parts
the story is it's much easier to select traits this way
selfing is seed cloning. you're basically reproducing your choice female. that is way different than breeding for attributes.

I've never had a hermi and I'd say 80% of the plants I run are fem, about half self made S1s and F1s. Sometimes I get runts as femmed freebies, but never hermis. I haven't encountered hermaphrodism in any of my crosses, granted I've only run 7-8 beans

Its not like I run an incredibly tight lab either. I'm a pretty lazy grower, but ive got a lot of other things going on in my life at the moment, lol.

Inbred/Stabilized strains will not have as much variety for selection, but you wouldn't need as many plants to find the phenotype described by the breeder.

People that prefer doing their own selection would still buy/grow F1 beans.
a stabilized line will have one pheno, every time. no selection necessary. that's why the time is spent, so you can grow a copy of what's on the picture by buying seeds. what you see is what you get.

f1's are stable, unless you're doing three or four ways, or just chucking left and right to get mutts.

f2's will have the most variation.

gregor mendel, look him up. trust me, breeding and genetics are simple and scientifically logical.

S1s never in my experience are as good as the mother plant. They always end up watered down or something totally different but usually just crappy version of original. Now fem seeds made from 2 different parents call it what you like F1s i guess make great crosses for me. Ive ran into herms with Fems just as much as Regs, its all based on there genetics. So if a breeder knowingly or unknowingly mixes a hermi prone parent into a cross it has a high chance of showing hermis no matter fem or reg seed. Personally out of at least 200+ bought packs of seeds many F1s the only homogenous strain ever where every female looked the same was Serious seeds White Russian.

Have you ever pollinated a plant grown from feminized seed?

i've done more breeding than any one person should attempt in a life time.

funny thing is, a lot of the ''greatest'' contain stuff that came from my basement (directly or indirectly).

if you want to make seeds, it's as simple as letting the grass grow. if you want to isolate a trait, well now, that takes some thought, preparation, room, and time.

i've not come across anyone who is stabilizing 'strains'. crosses, this that and the other, but none of the 'omg, this is the best ever! how can we take this female, and make her available to others?'.

the process is simple; only takes a couple of years. stabilize by selecting desired traits/phenos for six + generations. do any of you have the patience?

if not, you're chucking pollen, just like everyone else.
I have 3 strains that are 3 generations in im working on stabilizing. It really bothers me that seedbanks dont stabilize, i feel like stability should be demanded out of them, but no one cares enough to actually hold them to some shit. Its like that youtube video with pie guy about gsc where hes like, "my shit comes out the same every time in every grow room in every medium" that guy prides himself on how stable his genetics are, which is pretty badass imo.

I have. I pollinated raspberry cough fem with master kush male..to make cheeseberry kush. I've also made master kush fem seeds. I didn't use collodial silver. if a plant is done in 8 weeks. let it go 10-11 weeks and it will naturally produce male flowers with fem pollen. Personally Im not a fan of fems. There's a greater chance of getting hermies with fems rather than with regular seeds.

i wasn't really thinking about selfing, though that may have not been clear in my post
but using the CS treated plant pollen to fertilize another female
i have an ambiguous feeling to the femme strains
i don't know if it's a bad thing or not, many consider femm'ing to be the dark side
but felt the OP would like to know his options

Everything I have read so far is suggesting that colloidal silver is a better way to get pollen from a female plant as opposed to rodelization. The articles I've read are saying that there is no greater chance of hermies using colloidal silver than collecting pollen from a male plant. Using rodelization will substantially increase the odds of having hermie offspring though.

I'm going to start with just collecting pollen from male plants. I may try the colloidal silver method at some point as I can see where that might come in handy if there is a really special female that I want to work with.

the method I did for fems is Somas method out of his book.... When using collodial silver make sure to wear a painters mask and rubber gloves.

im about to use a car battery charger to create a high ppm CS, let you know how that goes in a week or 2... but should be better than using a cell charger for few bux more.
