Does ACE seeds have the real Thai Stick?

I wanted to grow Thai Stick sometime this or next year and want a true breeder not some wannabe rename.

That and Alcapulco Gold, but I can't find it in seed form.

It was a strain all the hippies wanted in the 70s and 80s, or at least so I'm told.

There is no "real" Thai. The original Thai was a landrace. It couldn't possibly be alive anymore.

I don't think anyone in particular bred "thai".

A friend and I gave a girl a ride and after she smoked us out she told us it was "opiated Thai". Neither one of us was a smoker back then and we were fucked! We ended up pulling over and just sitting there for who knows how long.

It has reddish/pink pistils and a crazy purple hue all over the plant.

ACE seeds has some nice looking plant, just hope their genetics stick.

World of Seeds has all the landraces too, not sure if original, I doubt it, but better than nothing.

"A Thai stick is a form of cannabis from Thailand that was popular during the late 1960s and 1970s. It consisted of premium buds of seedless marijuana which were skewered on stems. They seperated males from females which was not often practiced in other growing areas so the buds were seedless and already better than average pot from that period. They also would (in some cases) apply hash oil that would of course increase the potency as well.
The reason you stopped seeing Thai stick is due to the end of the Vietnam war. There is not enough profit margin in shipping MJ from Thailand to America. The shipping was free during the Vietnam war since most was transported over on military transport.
Once the soldiers came home, Thai slowly dried up and was gone.

As far as the the other landraces, they are good but not anywhere near as potent as today's buds. They have the good sativa buzz that is sought after but if you are shooting for potency, it is a solid step down.

When I was in high school, there were a few "strains" of thai bud and they were potent for the day, with a unique flavor. There was thai stick, buddha thai, and chocolate thai that i remember.

One day when I had choc thai in my pocket a teacher stood behind me and said something smelled like choc tobacco

I would love to grow the varieties I had back then. Don't know what they actuallu were, but back then skumnk, indica, humbolt, etc were the names used and each was very distinct. Somehwre down the line, the names imho stopped meaning much when evetryone talked about chronic, crippler, etc.

With the legitimacy of the industry, we are now truly growing and buying strains which as a chef type, is awesome.

Incorrect. I smoked TS in 1980-81. What I smoked was NOT laced or dipped. It was some of the best weed I've ever smoked.

I don't believe the original thai stick still exists unfortunately, what ACE probably has is a replica. And the whole dipped in opium thing that surrounds the thai stick strain is a rumor. It was hundreds of years of crossbreeding in Thailand that made the strain as potent as it was!

Yes I smoked pot wrapped on a small stick in the eighties and yes it was very good. And yes it was called thia stick but then again it was tied on a stick lol. I'll have some ready in a week!!!!

I used to sell plenty of Thai Sticks back in '76 - 80. You had your regular brown to dark brown Thai Stick
weed wrapped on a 6" long blond colored skinny stick then tied with the fiber of the plant that looked like a piece of light
brown string. I also sold lots of what was called opiated Thai Stick that were actually dipped in Hash Oil and this Oil would get all over the inside of the baggie(s) and was a medium brown tone to the Oil. Chocolate Thai that I had a lot of was as good as the Thai Stick buds in terms of potency and it smelled like chocolate but did not taste like it.

The Buddha Thai was by far the best of the three Thai strains and was very potent.
I had pounds of Buddha Thai golden brown buds and came loose just like the dark Chocolate Thai and had a great smell and the high was big time couch lock straight from hell.

They have Buddha Thai too, doubt its the real one though.
