Weaving & Bobbing thru 1st Grow :)

Hello everyone...

I have spent weeks on these boards reading and taking notes where possible for my very 1st grow. I initially started out with one T5 light and some off brand nutes from same hydroponic store I bought 6 pot hydroponic drip unit growing in one of my closets. After the 1st two weeks of getting all 6 to sprout and losing 2 right after (because I realized too late that 2 of the drips on the multiple drip head stopped working so they dried out and I couldn't recover them + the air stone that came with the unit wasn't up to par), I immediately went into "save" mode and altered my entire process. I am now using the four 5-gallon Root Spa system & 1 dwc for 1 plant, the entire GH Flora line for nutes, Ph, & Subculture b (got a bit of root rot on a couple of my plants that are now recovering...my purp kush got hit a bit hard so her leaves are still drooped but her root system is recovering just fine with new pretty white roots), the Secret Jardin darkroom 4x4 grow tent, two T5 lights, can-lite filter w/ can fan, 2 other fans: 1 inside tent and 1 right outside tent, 4 addt'l air stones running in the 4 bucket Root Spa system along with the ones that already came with it, and just a bit of morning outside air along with some smooth jazz on a daily basis...not sure if the last 2 help a whole lot but I enjoy it...lol!
I'm now 4 weeks into veg grow and have attached a pic of my babies for view. I say all this to say THANKS to EVERYONE on this site for helping us newbies stand a chance out the gate. Happy Growing Everyone :-)!

Pic below:
Top left - New Generation Dynamite Auto
Top middle - Dutch Passion Blueberry
Top right - THC Bomb (1 of the ones I lost in the 1st two weeks so I planted another and now 2 weeks behind)
Back left - Royal Purp Kush
Back right - Strawberry Blue (free seed from herbies order).

Nice job on your first! If they live and you get anything from them, it's a successful first grow, lol. This site is filled with knowledgeable peeps and doing the research will pay off (looks like it already has). Good luck.

Sounds about right, lol. Experience is the best teacher but like you said, at least you have some info coming out of the gate. It's nice to have a place to look when somethings going on with your baby.

Thanks Sparkticus :-D! Thats what I'm hoping for...that I can get as many through the entire process as possible. And yes, thanks to this site and the constant research I do on a daily basis...it ALWAYS helps....as reflected in my growth...lol!

Thanks nflguy...i'm a woman and not a "bro"...lol...lol...but its all good :D! I've never tried the THC bomb before but heard alot great things about it so decided to add it to the list in my first grow! She's now doing awesome....she loves that Root Spa bucket! But I can't contribute it to the bucket alone...I think its a combination of all of it really....either way....just happy she's growing well! Thanks again for the encouragement!

I will post more pics of the babies in a few days and keep everyone informed !

Thanks Squidbilly for the encouragement! And yes this is my very 1st attempt...a bit overprotective of my babies...but still try to give them lots of love and attention (typical mommy-mode...lol)....and always looking out for any signs of abnormality or anything unusual that should not be happening to hopefully catch in time to help them stay the course. Thanks to this site (and a few others) it has helped me "tremendously" with preventive maintenance! Thanks again :D!

Nice grow so far. Looking healthy. My first grow was a shambles
Thanks cottee! I'm trying to avert my first grow becoming shambles...so I constantly read and research as much as I can to further educate myself on hydroponics growing...it has been a lifesaver for me and my babies...lol 8-)!

I do not know if it makes a difference but people recommend that you cover the hydroton with something to prevent light from getting into the buckets

Commander Strax...
I've never heard of covering the hydroton with something to prevent light from getting in but I have read more of covering the rockwool cube with hydroton up to the top of the net pots to prevent light from getting in the water below. Will research it some though...thanks!
