Not to start an argument, but chemicals do NOT = chemical, = chemicals. They are not created equal, SOME are a NASTY type you DON"t want to be in contact.
with. DDT, for example is a nasty one.
NOT to argue. To point out.
DDT was banned years ago and has not been available sense!
Chems vs. not......It's what works for you........I hope you never get Root Aphids. There is no natural cure for those!!!
Pyrethrin is made from MUMS,,,,is that organic enough? Neem is concentrated from a plant too, right?
I don't use anything suspended in an oil, neem too.....It's an oil,,,stays on your plant eh? Smoking that too?
If you choose carefully,,,there are "chems" that work when nothing else will anymore.....they break down and are harmless in very acceptable times...Some are actually organic!
Now I'm not saying your wrong and I'm not saying my way is right. At least for everyone. I'm saying that being educated on all the available methods out there IS important to making the right choice, at the right time, for the right problem.
The fact that the insects we fight are getting resistant to the things we use against them is an alarming problem.
Ineffective use and overuse are the leading cause! When I see people sign on here with statements like "I've tried everything over and over and I can't get rid of my mite problem". Then it turns out that it's someone who for what ever reason will not use a "chem" or has used the method/product of choice ineffectively. Thus beginning to create "monster" bugs, I get sad.....I sure don't want them.
The same for statements like "chemical sprays on cannabis is a no no . you smoke the bud . and attacks your kidneys and live"
If you actually take the time to learn whats available and learn how they work, how long they last and how to use them properly. You can VERY easily choose safe and effective products....and yes, there are some pretty nasty things out there....I assure you, I DON'T use those!
Treat completely and effectively. Treat the room, shed or where ever also....Stressed plants put out a pheromone that attracts mites.....did you know that? Try not to stress your plants....Watch them carefully if you do.
I don't care what YOU treat with, as long as you do it right!
I don't like seeing broad or across the board statements from the "purist" either....One day you'll get a problem you won't be able to handle.....You'll either break down and use one of "those" products, or you'll pull'em and start over....I did, YEARS ago. I took the time to research carefully and in great depth.....I made my choice.
Just wanted to point these things out.......Do whats right for you.....But learn.
