As far as how I see it going.. it's an interesting discussion. Depending on when the smaller LPs get licensed, it could go either way. If smaller LP's open and start selling $4 grams and other, cheaper alternatives than one of the primary arguments is going to go out the window.

Federal Justice Michael Manson sided with the group’s argument that they would not be able to afford medical marijuana if forced to purchase it from commercial producers.

Well if it goes down to $1-$2 bucks a gram maybe that will hurt the court cases. But then the LP won't make any money and will fold.
I still could not afford $4 a gram ..too much for me.
Lets face they will never be able to run these businesses and make profits as long as we can do it cheaper. If it goes legal..maybe

I have to disagree. These companies aren't technically expecting to make all this money just off the medical users.
There's an entire secondary market that can buy a prescription and then get product shipped to their door for $4-$8 a gram. Last I talked to people buying small quantities on the street they were paying that, if not significantly more. The "medical community" is expected to grow exponentially based on the CADUMS survey of individuals who said they had used Marijuana. Product availability with no "legal risk" is going to change the market as a whole - these people have no intention of growing it for $1 a gram.

The small LP's may survive better than the big ones IMO. I think the small LP's will do it better and garner more customers eventually.
Yes the med patient volume will go up. Especially as folks realize the med ticket gets you able to smoke legally. You know like California, apparently everyone is sick there lol. You know what I mean. If it goes legal, no need, if it doesn't.. everyone is getting sick for some reason.
If we had more " compassionate " Doctors in Canada their would be a lot more people with minor complaints seeking the bud.
I know people chomping at the bit to find an illness to get a Doctor to say yes.

watching a show on Colorado's pot scene, it showed a black board with prices and the medical user was half the price. By what oddish says, he's thinking the govt is going to legalize it ... I suppose with the word from JT  what a joke if you believe any politician, they always say shit to get votes nothing more, then make excuses. seems this all has to be fought in court to get it legal, a lot of sheep thinking that one day of the year they light up in front of cop is all a measure of control, nothing more

I doubt they'll ever legalize the product.. I just know there are special doctors that you can pay to file the paperwork for you indifferent of having a real issue. "Back pain" is something that's very hard to measure. Once you have that prescription, you can order product for the next year. If you're a casual user, even 3 grams a day adds up pretty quick.

well then those doctors need investigating for not doing their job properly but not every doctor is like that

Agreed. But it is a tough situation. The reason I use back pain as an example is because it was a popular on (from what I've heard) in California and because it's something I suffer from myself. When doctors try to diagnose my back pain they just poke different spots and ask, "Does it hurt here?". Say yes enough times and even a chiropractor will believe you have chronic back pain. If they can't find the problem, even more reason to medicate instead of trying to adjust it.

Not positive but I think Vianarchris means the class action regarding our medical info being tossed out for the world to see....
