I am in the Midwest. What you probably found is wild hemp, AKA ditch weed, as hemp was once legally grown. If it gets very tall and looks like a corn stock with small branches instead of a small bush or like a Christmas tree, it would be hemp. The county is always spraying the ditches and I have seen wild hemp 6+ft tall, but it looks like an ugly corn stock. Tall and lanky with no buds. Even slow growing sativa looks more like a bush/tree. Hemp and marijuana look alike when starting out, but hemp has no high. Because they look similar is why hemp is not allowed to be grown for industrial use.
