this is outdated and incorrect, and definitely not a "definitive" answer :P . Its a lot more complicated than that and that picture is old and its not accurate
Well, then...show us a new picture that is accurate and not outdated and incorrect like the one I posted. We are just trying to help this guy out. That picture is from a book on marijuana. BTW, please explain to all of us growers what is correct.

Like i said. That picture you showed is outdated and not accurate. i diddnt mean to be a dick, it just how it is.
I cant simply post a new picture of "how its done" because the knowledge of cannabinoids is not something that has been fully discoverd.
What i can tell you however is that CBN (amber trichomes) tend to give paranoia and other ill effects. Amber trichmoes is a big nono in any garden. However its not to be confused with a plant being ripe! just because 1 trichome turns amber it wont mean that the trichom production as a whole has fully stopped. New calyxes may form and more resin production may occur. The plant may still be gaining new trichomes and potency even if you see some amber here and there.

The peak THC in a resin gland is right before it turns milky while still clear (confirmed in studies from Dr. Paul Mahlberg) you can google it yourself if you dont belive me. There was even an article in high times about it called "the resin factory". Anyhow there is no way to give a definitive answer to the question of when is peak thc, when to harvest etc. theres not a definitive answer because it has a lot to do with a lot of things. 1. more reaserch needed, we may not even understand 30% as things look today. Just like we cant isolate all the flavours in strawberrys. 2. may or may not be strain dependant. 3. personal preferance of high from consumer 4. growing conditions. 5. i can go on and on :D .

The truth is that studies regarding cannabis has been way to shunned in the botanical world. There is still much we dont know about the plant itself, however we do know that amber trichomes is a nono. The idea of amber giving "more couchlock effect" is complete nonsense and should be treated as such. I did in no way mean to be a dick by saying so, but i was wrong in the same way when trying to help a guy out 6 months ago on this exact forum. I posted the exact same picture as you and had to learn the hard way :) .

No offense taken be me at all friend! It should NEVER cause arguments here when members dis-agree. Most of what you said I agree with, but I personally like to see about 25% Amber for harvest. I still would like to know why my picture is outdated and not accurate? Peace

Great thank you guys for all the replies.
I will post some more macro photos in a week or so!
Never go on what a seed company says dude too many factors to take into account, a 8 week strain will more than likely really be a 9 week each room differs go on the plant rather than the details on the packet of seeds or a web site,

Go on what the plant looks like don't even go on the hairs because they can coulour up for countless reasons,go on the crowns.when they start to swollow the hairs.

Hope this helps tyke......

5-7 days only water should be more than enough if you have amber trichmoes over the whole plant. Personally i would cut it before 10% amber. Still a lot of new growth is shown on the older pictures no it was kinda hard to see.. This pictures shows how rippen they truly are it seems. C99 is great smoke both in taste and effect. looks healthy and good :) . Well done :) .

@bird dog like i said its pretty complicated and before anyone can say anything more testing is needed. Something i can say for sure tho is that amber trichomes wont give you more couchlock, but rather more paranoia and creepy effects. Amber does not give "couch lock" or "better medical cause more cbd" or any of that. That was the part of the picture i reacted to (the amber trichomes part) but the milky and clear trichome part i agree on. :)

Happy growing everyone!

I went a head and harvested... She was showing amber all over and it was upwards of 5-10% in places.

Each big bud is around 20-23 grams at the moment..
and smaller ones 3-8 grams.
Guesstimate?

I'd guess somewhere around 4 oz when it dries....

Nice Job goatlicker. Well done....

Just don't smoke too much herb, and wind up like this goat.

Hahah good shit.
Im going to guess 4 ish too. Is that decent of one plant?
I forgot what they say the average per watt you can get, and what not....

imo, 190 watts isn't all that much, imo so I think you did at least reasonable...Before I started my current grow that was my goal...4oz per plant, and I wanted to grow two plants...I believe I am going to crush that number but I'm also using about 550 watts one one plant, lol.....

I'm saying your buds look nice...You nurtured her to the end, and now you have some nice lookin' buds...Actually I think yours look more sugary than mine but my plant is yet to finish....I think you will like it.

Dry, and cure that herb well....And then go enjoy. :weed: :peace:

Thanks man I tried!
I am very limited to space otherwise I'd have more plants as my light can cover 3x3.
I also could've had it on 130w mode and still had same results but 60w isn't much to me in power.
