Alright so in the past when i harvest, i have always hung the full plant upside down, let it dry for 2 days. Come back pull all the buds, trim all leaves place in drying rack allow to fully dry and then jar it up for curing and storage. I will no longer use this method.
This last grow, i only got 1 female out of 10 seeds, so i experimented with the female green crack plant. im not gonna reveal any of my secret experiments but one thing i can tell u is, there is a foliar that prevents nute burn, and my new method of drying gave my bud a much stronger high.
First, when i was harvesting i clipped each and every bud off of the plant individually as gently and preciously as possible. it went great. leaving me with nothing but a 6 foot tall bare plant full of fan leaves. i used a mesh drying rack (cost me about 10 bucks on amazon) and placed each bud with good spacing on each level of this mesh drying rack. Im not going to trim the buds any further, I've removed most all of the big stringy leaves the buds look good but i havent removed all of the bud leaves leaving the small ones with trichombes and resin glands all over them. you know the small sticky leaves that gum up your scissors. yea i left most of them on.
being the anxiety freak that i am, i had to taste a semi cured bud. i took a full sized bud out of the jar, placed it in my pipe without grinding it or trimming it in the slightest, smoked the entire thing and it tasted amazing, so far the best tasting harvest i've had in 3 years of growing. also the largest Single Plant harvest i've ever had. I've made some small tweaks and changed some bells and whistles around but the upcoming grow is nerve racking. Im so excited to see what my next set of plants looks like. Thanks for reading.
She produced a half pound of great smoking and tasting bud even after heavy nute burn and being cut down 2 weeks early.
A picture of my 6 foot Green Crack plant 2 weeks into flowering and all of its former glory.
