which is EXACTLY what went down..why the heck did he go into the army after that? did he think it was going to be any different?
if he wanted to be of use to the afghan people he should have joined the peace corps.
I has a buddy in basic who had done all of the Corps marine basic, at his next school he got word that his mother was very ill and likely to pass. He was almost immediately discharged, it took three hours he said before they had given him a 'failure to adapt' and sent him home.
He joined the army and was I basic with me a few years later.
The catch all can be used for good, bad and indifferent.
Perhaps he rolled his ankle and the recovery time was longer then the training slot.
There are a multitude of possible reasons.
Really though, if he didn't like the service once I would hope he had gotten the clue the first time.
