Good idea! My first grow i tried the whole trich thing and just couldn't see a huge difference and it was hard to tell when to chop with the conflicting info... Let me drop some knowledge on you loljk people who think they are changing the high by color of trichs are right to an extent BUT they are doing it wrong, you need to choose the high based on the strain profile because a plants peak maturity is very little amber plus amber will increase after it has been chopped! The guys who think they like couch lock and fifty percent amber and what not are simply confused, they are dumbing down a strain to get what they want from it instead of growing a strain that gives what they want by the proper harvest time anyway.. so by harvesting based on the maturity of the whole plant you are aiming for peak ripeness instead.. Here are some ways to tell, one important sign your plant is nearing the end is you will see capitate stalked trichs which are trichs that have grown longer than the rest and may be bent buy these only show up in the last couple weeks. You also will see that many of the hairs have receded and the plant colors will change to fall reds and purple light green and yellow, in the last few weeks of flower this no longer means you have a problem.. The last thing i watch is for a swell, you will notice the buds stop growing but the individual calyxes will plump up.. When that seems to stop plus you have capitate trichs and a plant that generally looks like it's ready to die.. That imo is it's peak point of ripeness! Not bad btw for a first go at all don't get me wrong just trying to throw out tips i had to teach myself that effectively brought me to the next level
