Bullshitting aside, you are absolutely right. We pay a premium for simply not knowing and not taking the initiative to learn for ourselves. The poor guy that didn't take the time to look up what's in carboload product might just feel like a jerk off when he gets home and finds out from his hippie friend he just bought an overpriced bottle of sugar water. I can hear it now, "but dammit the guy told me I had to have it and there was this really cool picture on the front of the bottle that got my nipples hard".

I will probably never make my own nutrient salts because I think there are other folks that do a fine job of that already and I'm willing to buy their product because I'm busy enough as it is, but I do want to be knowledgeable enough to know when I'm making the right decision getting the right product and knowledgeable enough to know when I'm about to get fucked so I can simply walk away (with my money). That is the purpose of this discussion. So yes, in a nutshell, people are getting fucked and they're asking for it so it's kinda consensual. I would like to change that a little, so people can patronize the right companies that don't rape you for their product to produce the same end result.

They are fucking smashing in the sides of bat caves and industrially extracting the shit that off ground. Not only that but it is mixed with a bunch of bug shit. Once they start this it's not like the colony just re-habitats somewhere else, almost all of them die.

With everything we know about fertilizer and amendments we no longer need bat guano.

You can get bullshit from just about anyone.
Never pay extra for that service.

I do think aol was horrible.
It was a jumbled up mess.
However they convinced newbies and old ladies it was the shit.

Some people have no desire to get involved with microbes n salts n actual shit.
There will be a market for them and it will always cost more.

Once I established a working relationship with the grow shop and stopped pretending I knew everything he was better able to guide me to the best bang for the buck section.

In life I tend to avoid the cheapest and the most expensive.
A rule of thumb that works well in most cases.

I said this to az2000 on another thread but I have mad respect for Grow More, for providing awesome american made products for the money. If I was only going to beholden to one company it would be them just because every product is top notch and extremely cost effective.

boy i've seen this plenty of times! i'm browsing, looking around the nute store, and some guy with a little knowledge, and a lot of lip, makes himself look like an idiot, trying to do the opposite. i try not to sound like a know-it-all when shopping. i ask questions when i need to, but never spew a bunch of facts trying to impress...

You would be slightly amusing if you had a clue. They are putting there name on bulk dry ferts and charging you for it. Do a little research before you endorse a company next time. Check the price on their lime and then tell me why I should pay for their name. Check the price on their "flower hardener" and tell me why I should buy their name, check the price on their kelp and tell me why I should pay for their name. I could go on im sure but I didnt feel like being on their site for more than a minute. Ironically, you are the exact type of person this thread was made for, if you didnt think you knew it all and didnt think your 20 bottles actually do more than 2 would, you would see right through all the bullshit companies you endorse. Speeking of china, where do you think ANs salts come from? They may label it in canada but the shit aint made there. My ex wife was a label whore also so I understand the disease.

For someone who uses bottled nutes and additives and wants to use an online nute calculator I say 5, any 3 part, protekt and cal/mag, I wouldnt buy cal/mag or protekt myself because they are easy enough to make, but thats what id tell someone to use if thats the direction they wanted to go. For soil im all about lime and Jacks classic, or just build and cook a soil and just top dress and feed teas/water
