Very First Cupboard Grow, Lots of Pictures.

So this is officaially my first good grow, others have almost started, and then stopped, but today im finished everything on my cupboard/Mini Closet and im starting it up

this is of course, the cabnet i will be using.

The lighting, 4 flouro's 5000k 27 watts

the output fan, 80 cfm. probably less now with the carbon filter.

not a bigg fann of people going in my stuff.

lightt trap number 1 wiht carbon filter in, 80 cfm computer fan, hooked up to 9v battery (radio shack just isnt waht it used to be )

fann number 2, input with 78 cfm' but is a bit wider. again 9 v battery.

carbon filter under fan number one.

and last but definatly not least, the plant :)

comments questions anything is appreciated.

im way too stoked about this, and i hope everyone else is too:P

has your carbon filter got holes in it for the air to get out of?

And why hook the fans up to batteries?
Do the Cellphone charger thing?

Can you move your lights up and down with the growth of the plant?
other than that, good luck with the grow.

for some reason, cell phone charger just wasnt making the fans go fast enough, so i switched it up and used 9 v batteries, when i can find somthing higher, i will definatly switch up. yes the carbon filter has holes in it, its like, a mesh bagg. and for moving the lights, i cant, so im gonna make little platforms as it grows :P

also, i think batteries are a little more energy friendly, and a little more safe then doing the cell phone wiring i had set up.

just look for a plug something like a cell phone charger, but read the label on it. look for one that says 12v dc. one of those should work great for you.

yeah i couldnt find one, when i do, i'll deff use it, but for now batteries are working great.

Well the box has to have holes in it too, to let the air flow through the carbon and then out of the grow space.
otherwise the carbon filter is useless.

hope no one takes my advice for the batteries, 2 hours through and they are dead, at least 1 is, complete garbage.

First... congrats on your first micro cab grow

Looks like you have a simple understanding of the basics... and that in itself is a great start.

As long as you learn from any mistakes and problems that you will encounter, and don't get discouraged, you will be growing like a pro before you know it :bigjoint:

First thing you will need to fix is of course your battery problem.... go down to wall mart or radioshack and find a 12dc vold converter.... pretty much anything that plugs in the wall and converts your house's 110/120v AC to 12 DC... They should be easy to find, if not, just ask... simply tell them that you have an old toy that has a 12 volt rechargeable battery and would like a 12 volt charger.... and you will be able to power all your 12v fans with it.

Looking good, I seriously hope though that your are germing more than one bean. I would hate to see ur only plant turn out to be a male. That shit sucks, so avoid it by doing at least 5 beans.
You should have enough space to do a small sog or scrog style grow.

Definitely nice little stealth op. definitely gonna need more light in flowering. SOG for sure.
I see you barely have room for those lights, If ya can afford it try to switch them out with some warmer colour and higher wattage cfls. I know those higher watt cfls get pricey though.. could almost get a small hps. 1000bulbs.com is a good place for cheap cfls and ballast kits.

Yeah learning as you go is a big part, I've been going almost a year and still not there.
Males suck... for sure germ like 5.

About powering your fans, I use a old PC power supply. I am using 4 of the large 120mm case fans to push air through my light hood and out of the room. The problem with the power packs is you can only run 1 fan off them with out them slowing down and then still the fans speeds are not as great compared to using a PC supply. You would need a power pack that has over an amp output (On the label they will say output 12v DC ###mA) most are around 500mA which is 1/2 of an Amp. That is barly enough to run one large case fan. So if you can find a bigger power pack and run your two fans great.

But if you have access to an old non running computer or if there is a used electronic store around you should get one from 5-10 bucks, make sure to get one thats older as in not having SATA power connectors, but not so old is has a power switch built into it, OK? New they can be as cheap as 20 bucks to.

You also have cross the "On" wire to ground on PS connector that goes to the MB. Ground is usally green and on my PS the on wire is grey, mine says it right on the label what wire does what.

If anyone does decide to do this but can't figure out what wires to cross to make the power supply turn on just post some pics of the PS and connector and I'll try and help.

Anyway, one of those will run allmost endless pc fans at full speed, hope this helps someone.

Damn... I just remembered throwing away a couple old computers I found in the attic... I should have scavenged the fans and power supplies first =[

hindu kush, and im looking into more lights, hopefully some 100-200 watter cfl's

i only have one seed germing, but i have one plant that im working on rihgt now, im gonna germ 4 more, but i dont have enough room in the box to grow them for a month? i dont think?
