Bubble Hash Oil

I have my first opportunity to extract from bubble hash. My first go round produced a Red Oil that tastes just like the bubble hash, but way smoother and far more potent than the original stuff w particles of plant matter and fine debris. Very good yields w all solvents used including acetone, hexane, ethanol, r-113, butane, propane and MZ12X. image.jpgimage.jpg image.jpg image.jpg 50 grams of bubble hash oil.

I am really curious how your oil can be more potent than the bubble hash you started with.
How could the same resin become FAR MORE POTENT after dissolving it in acetone, hexane, ethanol, r-113, butane, propane and MZ12X.
Can you make more cannabinoids through your process??? Can you bring the resin to a higher percentage of THC or is it simply that your resin may have been seriously dirty to become FAR MORE POTENT after dissolving, it would certainly not happen with the hashish we are making in my hood Mr Red Oil maker.

@ frenchy you are probably 100% correct most people i know who make oil using bubble hash use the crap that cant be sold. They are taking the garbage out so it is increasing potency slightly . I would like to see what happens if using top shelf bubble but enjoy good hash way to much to risk ruining it

Yupppp I know a few people who use low grade bubble or bubble that doesn't sell and oil it. When I first started I thought that was how hash oil was made (because that's how the people I know made it) and it was called HASH oil.. so I figured it was the oil of hash lol. I mean, they don't call it olive oil for squeezing the leaves of the Olive plant... Hahaha

Is it not better to extract from the trims/plants since you can get what is inside the plant matter, even if the quality of the cannabinoids is lower there must be medicinal compounds and such "accessible"???

It is no doubt more pure, but the extraction process lost most of the terpenes, and without them the potency has diminished. There's probably not much of a difference between the two.

Makes sense and does describe it well, I can digg it. I do like to know what I am getting (nug run, trim run, stem run, etc) so Nugg Oil works with me.

So if I make bho from budds is should be called bud oil? =/
Butane Honey Oil not Bubble Honey Oil

BHO is still BHO regardless of extracting from plant material such as leaf or nug runs or if extracted from a kif, iwe, or the like.

Can it be more potent than the starting material? Well that is the point of concentration. If something was left behind, plant material / trichome husks, then the results would be more potent. Great improvements in flavor might be had and some moderate gains in potency.

Any decarboxylation that might occur during the solvent wash purge could increase potency.

I have read some scientific articles mentioning that the plant material contain cannabinoids of lower quality that are extracted as well with solvents, does it lower overall quality of final product?

jeeze at least clean your fuckin vials an bowl prior to making oil, looks like you found those vials in the corner of the room under a pile of carpet dust for fuck sakes.

I have made BHO with an oz of pure kief, as well as 14 grams of full melt BHO + everclear and freezing it. I personally didnt find them anything special, but at that point I had such a tolerance nothing got me high. the taste was nothing special either for both batches. nice clear red color though.

I honestly cant remember what I did. I think I sold 33% of it, 33% went into oil (everclear dissolved) and 33% of it is still sitting in a silicone container somewhere.

but yeah those were the chunks, it was a few months ago but I went through about 4 ozs of that stuff. the only tiny spec of mold looking stuff were those 2 tiny specs you guys caught, otherwise nothin.

I also didnt break it up like you recommended and the inside didnt mold.

it was very nice hash though, full melt. I just didnt understand how every puck was so different, the guys selling it to me must have been bullshitting me. said they do it in a 20 gal garbage bag with a sump pump all taken apart so its just an impeller or something spinning... and just 2 wash bags. I dont know, I didnt really care in the first place, not much of a hash guy. the makers didnt seem to care either... they had so much of this full melt hash they didnt even know what to do with it all.

almost 1 oz each

froze it and ground it up in the hand grinder (fuck me.....dont ever do that)

meh, im not a hash guy... I choose the oil every time. it was pretty tasty though when I was able to get a nice hoot.

also, I find hash is hard to smoke, I only use a nail... no joints or bowls for me so it was tricky.

also, this hash smoked like shit on the nail, even when I got the nail GLOWING red, then dabbed within 2 seconds, still didnt smoke well. I dont know.

Here is some cotton candy made from some previous years bubble hash from mixed trim. It wasn't aromatic, but was still tasted hashy, and was tastier than the bubble it was made from.

It was taffy instead of shatter when finished in a vacuum oven.

I made it in class using a 1 1/2" X 6" column, on a Mk IIIA. Yield was just over 60%
