I went to College in Florida and that didn't really do the trick.
No. No. Not at all. I also have a couple of 2 year Tech programs behind me. My Company paid for one and the State paid for the other. And being a hiring manager at a very large tech company I can tell you there are plenty of jobs in Services that only need the dip in Tech School.
You don't need a Masters in Computer Science to be in the Industry. ITT Tech is a great school. They have job placement services. Those 2 year programs are all about the job. I put in a damn hard year full time at Control Data Institute, back in the 80s. Aced it with sweat and a little blood...damn screwdrivers.
I had very advanced interview skills training which I applied and it worked like magic. I have over 30 years in the Industry now
Degrees are all about the Knowledge but not about the training to get work.
Get a State Grant. You would be very surprised at how much free money there is for motivated people.
I got a fully funded Grant for CDI. That would probably be worth $20K these days.
