too soon to top?

Got these two in a Garden of Ease hydro kit. I did a terrible job transplanting from soil to hydro, some roots were lost, they look a little sad, but underneath they look really nice, roots are growing fast. Anyways, they're only a few inches tall atm, so when is a good time to top?

Given what they've been through and general good advice, I would wait until you have another two sets of leafs (two more pairs) before topping. Let it get a bit more strength first.

Truth is its just a weed, do it now or do it in a week, it will recover and adapt in most cases.

I top at the fouth node, it gives the seedling time to strengthen abit, then ill leave for a week then top again, different people do it different wqys

I agree. Looks like they need a little time to recoupe from the transplant. I dont know about others but most time I go ahead and top at the 4th or 5th node if possible. Makes for a nice spread of shoots for me anyways. But trial and error will give u many answers in the future. Some come easier than others!! Happy growing !

Just remember to leave bit of time between topping for your plant to recover,
and listen to ^^^^^^

Thanks for teaching me how to topp a plant Oakllalright. You are the best. Here is the picture after u showed me how to topp a plant. I did exactly ad you suggested it. I can't wait to see two colas!!!
