If somebody agreed to be paid by you at $1/hour, would that be OK with you?No, if someone works for you, you should not pay a living wage.
You should pay whatever the both of you agree on.
It is a negotiation and contract between two people. The government does not need to pass more legislation preventing people from freedom of choice.
It's not my claim, I only parrot what you'll find on the first page of google.Use google to verify your claim..?
Oh man, I found your claim, you disingenuous POS..You're full of shit. In the fast food industry, where many minimum wage jobs are, labor accounts for 22-40% of revenue costs. So that means a federal minimum wage of $10.10 like Rapewan wants could increase prices by 8.65-15.72%.
Yes. You do know many internships are ZERO pay. What two consenting adults agree to is their business and government has no right to get involved. If somebody agreed to be paid by you at $1/hour, would that be OK with you?
Service industriesFrom your link
According to the Restaurant Report website, labor costs in the food and beverage industry account for 22 to 40 percent of total sales. In other words, for every $1 in sales, a restaurant spends up to 40 cents in labor costs.
Which industry has more minimum wage jobs??
Then why is there a minimum wage at all?Yes. You do know many internships are ZERO pay. What two consenting adults agree to is their business and government has no right to get involved.
Yes, I see that if we raise minimum wage there will not be any jobs so mexicans will stay away.. You r soooo smart!!!Service industries
Then why is there a minimum wage at all?
Do you understand how this issue affects illegal immigration? Low wages increase the incentive for illegal immigrants to cross the border and for domestic employers to hire illegal immigrants under the table
Another heap of stupidity escapes the mouth of ANALEXCESSGAY1
There is a minimum wage because there are employers who share CS' opinion that slave wages are acceptable if consenting parties agree. Most people understand paying employees less than the national poverty limit is bad for everyone because it not only burdens them as individuals, it puts a strain on the economy because they have less money to spend. The middle class is what drives the economy.Yes, I see that if we raise minimum wage there will not be any jobs so mexicans will stay away.. You r soooo smart!!!
There is a minimum wage because the federal government feels the need to meddle in every aspect of people's lives.
you forget, the price of any object is determined by how much the buyer is willing and able to pay.Employees wages make up a fraction of the price of a product, the rest goes into marketing, production, distribution, etc. If you raise the minimum wage, prices will also rise at a fraction of the cost of the product, and I, as a consumer, as well as the majority of Americans, will gladly absorb that increase if it means the employees of the company providing the product receive a living wage, especially if it means the savings to the American taxpayer are that significant.
Higher wages, lower taxes, seems like a win win to me, but I'm interested in hearing your opposition to said proposition..
NUH UHH!!! it's cuz REPUBLICANS!! the multi-nationals! the "new world order" (lefty interpretation), the koch brothers (somehow) and racism.Umm no, a single person in 2 years time costs more than a new spanking $120,000 farm implement.
Obviously you have not heard of China, India, or any other nation that most manufacturing jobs have moved to. Why? Do you think its because of the better weather or something? No, it is because of reduced labor costs. Labor is THE MOST EXPENSIVE THING IN MANUFACTURING!! PERIOD!!

1/3rd of large manufacturing left in the USA wants to move to China, know why? LABOR COSTS!!
warren buffet agreed to work for $1 a year as his salary. If somebody agreed to be paid by you at $1/hour, would that be OK with you?
It is my businesswarren buffet agreed to work for $1 a year as his salary.
wtf is wrong with you?
if i agree to work for $1 /hour then thats MY CHOICE. what business is it if i make $1/ hour or $300 mill/year?
its MY money, MY labour, and MY business, and not yours.
I've worked for companies as management and have seen profit and loss statements.Clearly it depends on the size of the company what ratio you would end up with, with larger companies having smaller ratios
Oddly enough, it's the largest companies paying its employees the least
Where is your citation for 45%?
Then why do I have to ask you 3 times to provide better evidence than "I seen some statements one time.."?I've worked for companies as management and have seen profit and loss statements.
Anyone who has worked for a company in a position higher than fry-cook will know average labour costs in any company are 30-40% average.
Sure ask Uncle Buck, his scam is that 100% of his business costs are him paying himself to trim.
That is total horse shit.It is my business
Low wages negatively affect the economy which negatively affects me, and you, and everybody else
American taxpayers are picking up the slack of corporations through safety net programs, I pay taxes
That's why it's my business
You can check publicly registered companies financial statements/annual registered accounts online for free. Then why do I have to ask you 3 times to provide better evidence than "I seen some statements one time.."?
Nobody chooses to work for minimum wage, they have toThat is total horse shit.
Businesses are PRIVATE entities and people CHOOSE to work for minimum wage.
Businesses don't force people to work for them, they're not slaves and the business owner is not beholden to them for anything more than the wages agreed in the contract.
The world doesn't work the way you want it to and never will.
