Thanks. Hyroot's post seemed to imply it was EH (within the context of this thread, Pet and EH arguing, the only person with motive would be EH.). I wanted to clear that up one way or the other.

Trying to understand who else would have motive to threaten pet with grassing out. I can see BML or Amare regretting their involvement, that their names will be associated with ongoing drama. What would be Rollie's motivation?

Honestly, my first thought was Cammie McKenzie (HydroGrowLED) did it. She has a lengthy reputation for threatening problematic customers with "grassing out" to the cops. She's tried to diminish her reputation by claiming it was just one customer who tried to stop payment on an order. I could see how she could be reading along and see an opportunity to minimize her own reputation by making it appear another light seller did the same thing. Her thread on RIU using a pseudonym to bash Baesheng LED (<<link) shows I'm not entirely delusional.

My second thought was that Pet made it up as one last jab at EH. To plant a lingering seed of doubt.

I'm curious what motivation others would have if EH wasn't implied.

Don't wanna get involved with this BS, but will say that EH would never call the cops on anyone. He's had his "issues" with other RIU members in the past and nothing came of it...............he's not stupid, would be a TERRIBLE business move.

^^^My take is I think it's more he's bitten the hand that feeds him too much around here. I've been on threads that Pet would pop into and start his spamming. Start talking about himself and whomever he's plugging this week and I've reported him for spamming myself at least twice. He's got terrible forum manners and is always thread jacking and of course his condescending bullshit which is very annoying to lots of people, not just me. Something tells me if you piss off the wrong people around here and do it constantly the complaints finally add up enough for the upper hierarchy to get involved, (unless your one of the untouchable know-it-alls in the Politics section). He's not banned it seems, he signed in today, and he posted some grow info on other forums. Maybe he's worn out his welcome around here. I remember when I first started coming here and feeling sorry for him for people shitting all over him but once you figure PF out a bit you see why the abuse comes. I remember me and a couple of other people tried to help him out and he shit all over us.
Still it's all speculation on my part so. Maybe if he realized he ain't the fucking king he thinks he is and started having some semblance of respect for others and their ideas things would change for him around here. I for one hope he never comes back again.

You're right. I don't belong where it's ok to resort to the coward act of black-mailing people into silence a grower with a threat of having uniforms knocking on their door. An experience not pleasant even in a green state. (I went through one and it sucked real bad) There's lines you just don't cross, this is the main one. You're also right about: I'm sort of glad that I'm totally fucking clueless on what your all discoursing about.

Bashing on people when they can't defend themselves due to the chickenshit coward cop threat to gag them is not fair either.

Unfortunately, we don't know the details. I agree that threatening grassing out for any reason is unacceptable. But, not everyone has the ethics you and I do. We all have a responsibility to be cautious.

In petflora's case, it appears he made his identity known to many as an LED devotee, one of the inner and trusted circle. However, the way he changed his devotions (near "borderline," IMO, proclaiming some light to be the perfect thing before he'd tried it, only to kick it to the curb as some new light sung its siren song to him). That's begging for trouble.

For all we know, someone may have made that point to him in a way he could understand. An "intervention." We don't know what was said to him, but the way he was going, it could have been the reality check he needed.

Bottom line: we don't know what was said to him. The way he overplayed products (that hadn't produced yet) is similar to over-reacting to what could have been as simple as a friendly reminder ("a lot of people have your address, doesn't that concern you?").

Or, it could have been much more threatening. We don't know. Most of us don't draw such repercussions to us, nor the need for "intervention" (if that's what it was.). Hopefully someday we'll know more about it. For now, I'd say pet brought a lot on himself and that it was more likely a pointed intervention which he overreacted to.

Can you imagine what the BML folks feel like? Having themselves put on a pedestal they (presumably) didn't ask for, then knocked off, then brought up in the context of petflora being threatened into silence?

BML's business isn't cannabis-specific. For all anyone knows, they could be social conservatives who oppose legalization. Not someone who shares our interests.

I'm not trying to suggest BML did anything. My point is: there are a lot of variables. Pet made himself vulnerable with stuff like this. Someone could have merely pointed this reality out to him. From the temperament we've seen (and described by longer-term participants), I would expect him to blow it out of proportion and claim he was threatened with grassing instead of taking responsibility for the risks he was placing on himself.

All things considered, I think this has less to do with free speech and more to do with the reality of our hobby. If a threat occurred, pet put himself in crosshairs like most of us wouldn't. I think it's more likely someone simply pointed this out to him (intervention style) and he over-reacted (which fits his style).

As psuagro said, let's move on. None of us knows what happened. I think there's more reason to believe he was confronted with his own recklessness (and deflected responsibility) than actually being threatened into silence.
