But I think its safe to say we all can use salts and get above average results

just not my preferred method if I do organics

@TheYokel So salts come from breaking down banana peels ?
Yep. Bananas in their pure form, even before being broken down by micros or roots or Merlin or whatever magic entity you are looking at, contain up to 2 mg of sodium.

So even before the chemical breakdown and decomposition starts, you are already adding salt. Good on you, sir.

Loli just noticed your qoute answered it I asked how much salt is produced after the break down of the bananas

lol where that stupid now

I didnt ask for a spectral analysis of the chemicals in a banana

what is the best nutrient mix threw a hydroponic grow thanks
ive done side by side comparisons w/ nutrients for years in a 4x4 ebb n flow same clones same light only difference was the nutrients, up until last year General hydroponics nova series was the overal winner, but now ive switched to general hydroponics maxi gro, maxi bloom this cheap nutrient is simply the best in my compares it yielded more than foxfarm foiliar pro, and a couple other fox farm products, it also yielded more than advanced nutes, plantlife nutes, BC nutes and a few more brands..that was with no aditives or anything just base nutes ph balanced...gh maxi series is truly a great cheap hydro nutrient line,,results and yields dont lie and put up against some of the more expensive brands and it still won overall..also if your on the fense between advanced and foxfarm,, foxfarm yielded more than advanced also...i recomend gh nute wether u go w/ the flora, nova, or maxi all are great nutrients,, however if ur new to hydr the nova or maxi will be easier than the 3 part,, and in my 10 years of testing nova and maxi always came out on top..

I didn't join the forums to argue with anyone, but seriously, please stop arguing with science.
Potassium sulfate is literally a white crystalline salt. You are literally using a salt to avoid using salts.
Meh..

Yes I understand its still a salt, the point _again_ is for me to avoid chlorides.

You need to read what I'm writing, im not against salts, just chlorides, or Id like to avoid using them. I still think I'm correct in saying synthetic feeds are easier to cause nutrient burn.

Take that with a grain of salt.. ;) hahah.. Wheres my nobel prize?... hah!

Ive run so many systems and feeds over the years.. GH is simply good and cheap. There might be better stuff out there, but the price is right. But I agree with ya, I think I been running GH off and on for 15 years and and its pretty good at a reasonable price.

Mom's/Veg/Clone: Maxi-Grow
Bloom: Flora Nova.

Yup ive run the flora for years

but I can recommend botanicare without question

also despite what ever stigma they have I had good results with advanced as well ill probably try many like chem so I know what works for me

as to the organic thing I fuckin got him with the banana thing lol

For what my return is I dont care about nute cost but im not runnin a warehouse either lol

this is where we need a distinctive section for huge commercial ops and home grown small ops

cause I wont go agaisnt what chem said about the maxi

cause to be honest gh has been used since forever lol they are the miracle grow of the marijuana world

but im not cheap and I dont expect good quality without paying a price

even though hype is a factor
I never gave a shit about what someone else is running

ive kinda always been against the grain but thats just who I am I dont necessarily give a fuck about whos using what

but I do value a good a hardworkin opinion not Internet search experience lol

Yeah.. I hear ya, I dont see any reason to spend extra money on feed for clones, veg.. etc.. the performance is good and cheap. I know Maxi series in the bag doesn't get the "wow" but its great, its geared for production and I'm ok with that.

But I like to keep my costs under control, this also keeps me from throwing every whiz-bang additive that comes down the line. Id rather spend on fresh bulbs, propane, etc.. I admit my budget loosens up when it comes to a bloom nutrient, but nova does excellent with little effort or added cost. Off the top of my head its around 75 bucks a gallon, and its worth every penny.

But I totally get what you are saying.. Even if you ran a spendy feed like Heavy 16 or Advanced, at 2500-3K a pound you're not exactly losing money. It would still be cost effective.

Heh, I've spent my time in the garden. .. I got my first seeds in the early 90's :)
