Oslons ....

and the 'mysterious" single one between the two small torx screws ...
( "Black " series ? )

..
I'm so tired of these tiny ,little fuckers ....
They tend to get "decapitated" very easily ..
( They lose their silicone dome ,very-very easy .....)

Nicely designed led system ...With great figures ....

( > 2 umol/sec / J ) ...

Still ...

Can 't replace/change /fix those tiny light emitting mice turds ,like you can with a COB ...

And the cool white + deep red spectra ....

Mr Flux once told me that this is a great combo ...

How wrong he was ...

Energy efficient yes ...
Growing mj with it ?

Well...
Old 'n' tested news ....

Rephrasing :
Nothing beats plain warm white phosphor conversion led light ...
Watt for Watt ,gram for gram ..

Great design though ...
Actually reminds me of ...
Ahhhh...
Forget it ...

No offence ,but ....

I'm already making , much better lights, than these ones ...

In Hellas of crisis ,not in Austria of Princess Sissi .
Alone and not with a whole team / crew behind me ..

I was expecting something much better than this ...
:|.

Cheers.

I always wondered about the Olson black series and it's usefulness in horticulture. Those are 800nm+...?

Yeah...I'm over the small LEDs for the most part. Just had a doozy of a time putting them in my veg light...what a pain in the a$$. Not sure I'll ever integrate them in a flowering light again. Will see...the growth is really stocky with just warm white..I'm liking it very much so far.

Nothing...
except any mix between red, blue and cool/ neutral white

1.5µmol/J against 2µmol/J is 25% more photons
and this is 3500K, not your preferred 2700/3000K

I could be wrong here, and apologies If I am, but doesn't 4400K have the biggest peak in red @ 666nm, also the same for 7400K for blue (closest to indigo 425nm)?
According to Wien's displacement law? so wouldn't those whites be good to have aswell?

heres someone else's formula at working out the best white for 660nm & blue @ 440nm, (as I cant take the credit for all that math)

For working out 660(nm) according to Wiens Law
660(nm) = 6.6x10^-7(m)
Temp(K)=2.898x10^-3 / 6.6x10^-7(m) = 4390K

For 440(nm):
440(nm) = 4.4x10^-7(m)
Temp(K)=2.898x10^-3 / 4.4x10^-7(m)= 6586K

I actually improvised these changes into a standard type 'Generic, very common' LED, ran a test and the results came back very good.
I did make some improvements to the cooling methods of this type of LED tho, I used artic thermal silver compound cooing paste for the backs of each LED for example, skimmed the heatsinks a couple of mil, etc.. even sprayed the whole thing gold. blinged it up lol.

I would of put more white LEDs in there if the power drivers had a bit more oomph in them. lol. but as lazy as I am, I just filled up the rest with reds, 660 & 630's
The whites are 4400K (4 on the outside) and 3 cool whites (7400K) on the inside.
It aint rocket science,
Have a go!

My LED bubba kush day 56 .jpg

Day 70, just before harvest.. 98 G dry, not bad for a first try

bubba before harvest Day 70.JPG

Quality of smoke was exceptional tho, very strong, very sticky. more trichome production it seemed compared to other bubba kushes grown under other 'normal spectrumed' LEDs, more tests are on going at the moment for comparison.

A&O, your photography skills leave me in awe. That powder ... it's like you poured a one-pound bag of sugar cane over that beauty!

That LED lighting case eerily reminds me of one of my old LightHouse Chrome cases. A decent product series, no doubt.

That may be true if we were using incandescent lights, but LEDs are only simulating the color temp of incandescent light. With all the technology we have available to use, the best way to get 660nm light is to use 660nm LEDs.

How does a single curve line cover the spectra between 5000k-10,000k... and does this cover every COB or perhaps of the best available? I get your point though, it's loud and clear. If you want to hit 660nm hard, you have to buy the individual 660nm stars.

Supra, do you use anything else other than white COBs for lighting purposes in the garden? Have you used individual 660nm and 425-440nm stars before and how did they fare?

Do you have proof that it was me? No you do not. Let's see some emails, or other proof. There's no proof anywhere, because it wasn't me. There's no proof of any threats anyways, just some old man blabbing nonsense.
I thought about PMing you about this, but concluded it was best not to fan the flames. I hoped it would die down on its own. But, now that a flammer has accused you publicly:

I received a PM from @PetFlora accusing you of threatening to grass him out. He said he'd been told to stop posting on any forum or the police would be sent to his home. He said a photo of his home was included. And, that you were the only person who had his address.

I responded: "That story doesn't sound credible for the simple fact that telling a stranger (me) is not what you'd expect of someone threatened in the way you claim to have been."

IMO, pet is making the story up as a way to stigmatize you. His actions don't appear genuine (stop posting because he's supposedly been threatened so seriously that there are no other choices -- but then fan the flames with complete strangers? At best it exudes poor judgement. At worst, a calculating mind.).

As I said, I hate to contribute to this drama. I intended to never repeat pet's comments to me, hoping it was just hard feelings that would blow over. But, now that it has "legs," I feel the need to share pet's behavior I personally witnessed, and how it seemed entirely inconsistent with behavior you'd expect from someone threatened in the way pet claimed. The bottom line is that the accusation hinges entirely upon pet's assertion that you're the only person who had his address. That's kind of hard to believe. As I said, going silent because of the gravity of the threat while spreading the tale to complete strangers doesn't bode well for his veracity nor his judgement in matters such as sharing his address. (Or, more likely, the whole thing was made up just to tarnish your reputation.).

Too bad there's not a better vibe from everyone involved in growing weed.

They are just showing a generic curve for cool white there and calling it 5K-10K

Yes I started off using red/white/blue then we added deep reds once they became available in a high efficiency. It worked great, but was very expensive/W and only 26% efficient. Once COBs became available I was able to retire the large HPS setups very quickly and cheaply and the COB lamps are running at 48% efficient minimum. Then I added reds/deep reds and blue to try and fine tune the spectrum on some of the modules. At 700mA the reds are 41%, deep reds 42.5% and royal blues are now available that are just over 60%.

You can shoot me an email, I'll be the one answering emails for the next hour or so, I'll give you my Skype info in you wanna BS, I'll be awake until 6ish my time... You know, I'm so old, I have to hit up the Denny's for the 3:30 dinner, and be ready for bed at the old folk's home by 6pm, us old folks and shit....
