The polling is junk. Sorry. It's a computerized poll setup in a way to minimize unemployment numbers for the government. You can thank Reagan and then Clinton for the changes in how it's reported. Conspiracy implies secrecy, but of course for you it's simply a tactic to discredit. There's nothing secret about how it's collected and many economists do not believe it is an accurate number with good cause.

Other 'facts' sure must not have been apparant to a majority of American households - you may have noticed the resounding rejection of these so-called facts that aren't translating into a better life experience to the majority of voters.
