Thought I'd turn to the hive mind for this question.
Been a pack a day smoker for about a decade. I'd like to quit. Now here are some aspects of my journey and attempts so far, but I tend to sabotage myself in this journey.
1. I don't want a nicotine replacement. I've tried vaping, gum, and patches. Really just want to be nicotine free.
2. Done chantex. Works and I love the dreams, but as it blocks the receptors, I simply smoke more. I do hate the headaches and nausea that accompanies the medication.
So if you've quit, what do you do in those times you really wanted a smoke? I was thinking of a combination of reduction/Journaling when I smoke with a combination of replacement therapy using gum.
I know I should just stop. Go cold turkey and remind myself of how terrible smoking is, that could be an option I simply know I'll be meaner than hell for a bit.
Thanks ahead for your opinions. I need to stop this disgusting, and expensive habit.
