How the U.S. Raid to Rescue Hostages in Yemen Went Wrong

It used to be that the US was smart enough not to admit to or deny things like this and certainly not publish them on a real time basis in the news for the enemy to read...

What the fuck is going on with our national security?

Why do we keep announcing our failures to the world?
"Used to be"? Since when, WW II? Korea?

Hell, the g'damn American press have been providing battle damage assessment to our enemies since at least the first gulf war, and they've carried on that "tradition" with impunity ever since. Why? Because our senior military leaders are incompetent cowards that value their career more than winning our nations wars.

Must be nice for Haj being able to confirm or deny charge calculations based on casualty figures conveniently, and promptly, distributed by the U.S. media.

This ignorance goes well beyond any mere partisan politics bullshit and is a clear indicator that our senior military leadership, and those elected to "lead" and defend this nation, are GROSSLY incompetent.

this was a very difficult mission.

that yemeni territory you can hear ANY sound for miles and this includes helicopters, drones and troops.

at least they gave it a try.

announcing our failure to the world?

how about letting the world know what type of people exist that caused us to have a mission and fail in the first place?

i don't believe in the 1950's model of sugar coating everything for the american.

we are in a very different world in the millenium.

you either move with it or succumb to it.
I didnt make any comment about the difficulty of the mission. I didnt make any comment whether it should have been done or not. I didnt have any comment about it failing. This is the problem with you. You come at people with so much unrelated bullshit that it is rarely worth even addressing your posts.

When President Obama announced the most transparent administration in history, I did not realize it meant to our enemies about our military actions and failures. We didnt used to do that. I wonder if this was part of the reason Leon Panetta resigned. This is pure political bullshit that gains nothing for the American people. It isnt sugar coating it to not tell our enemies and our allies that we failed so publicly.

You dont seem to get that.

SO do you think if it wasnt reported the enemy wouldnt know that their hostages are gone and their people dead?
If it wasnt announced would you claim a conspiracy?
WHy were you bitching about Benghazi again?

v = (gRT)^1/2

Its all just mental masturbation anyway, no where in the story does it say it was a sound that tipped them off, nothing but "maybe this" or "Maybe that", which your mind has now distorted into being fact.

Do you see how easily you are misled?
i also read other reports and they believe it was a dog when the rescue team was about 100 yards away from the compound.

i believe in more than one opinion and not always what is in the OP.

you didn't have to.

as i just explained above, i read your story in the OP, then i read ..wait for it.. others.

you don't seem to get that.

You should dismiss all opinions and only trust facts. Verifiable ones.
so what makes the OP more factual than anything else out there i've read on the subject today?

don't get your undies in a bunch because i know more about this than you.

Becuase the Enemy wouldnt know what happened to their people unless it was reported in the news?

What the fuck is going on with our national security?
You dont have the proper clearance to either know or evaluate it?

Why do we keep announcing our failures to the world?
You rate this as a total failure? Can you do better? If we didnt act what would of been the result? What about the successes you seem to ignore?
SO how is this Obamas fault?
Lets see. Mission fails Obamas fault.
Mission successful. Credit to the spec ops that tried. Obama had nothing to do with it

"Under the cover of night, U.S. commandos approached the walled compound on foot, hoping to catch unawares the militants holding two hostages, including American Luke Somers.

Then, 100 meters from their target, something went terribly wrong. A noise, maybe a dog bark, alerted the militants to the raiders, according to U.S. officials briefed on the operation. The rescue team's biggest advantage, the element of surprise, was lost in that moment, and the shooting started.

When the dust settled 30 minutes later, the 40-man special-operations team emerged from the compound carrying Mr. Somers and a South African hostage, both mortally wounded..."

Sounds like a great advertisement for a guard dog service.

You are the only one who has mentioned Obama. Why do you feel it is his responsibility?
It gets extremely tiresome arguing with people who do not read, comprehend and respond to what I actually post rather than attack a list of talking points that I did not make.

Too many people have lost the ability to actually have a logical debate.

Once again, YOU are the only one to mention Benghazi
