well, it is very unique...time will tell...best of luck

I may suggest that a few more lights may be required once the ladies start budding

well, right off the bat, how many gallons is your rez? to avoid ph drift, it's advisable to have a good 5 gal. per plant.

I think the point people are making is its a small container and your res is to small. You have five plants in a container that should have no more than two at the most. You will probably have issues re stability and temps but time will tell. Perhaps you could get a bigger tote to put the girls in.

I now have 5 plants in a 30 gallon tub

^^^^ I see then ^^^^
lol,,,you took that well man!

I might increase the lighting a bit with T-5's or 400 MH (600 is better).
and 1000 is better still, the perpetual quest for more light :) during the winter my house is heated by my grow. Good beginning in hydro and happy holidays.

How long are you vegging for in that set up and I hope those are clones. If those are from regular seed, it is a bitch to unravel the roots. Plus if you have longer veg time plants will start weeding out each other but if you do like a two week veg you should be good to flower with at least two months. Good luck on the grow.

You need to upgrade your reflector to something other than a poorly painted piece of wood. At least give it a nice new coat of white. You are wasting over 50% of your light from what I am seeing. Your PH swing is likely from your choice of lava rock. Don't expect that thing to go for too long before you can't get the roots out the holes you cut. I would recommend you get some buckets and move to a 1 plant per bucket system, combine them with hoses if desired.

Hey man I'm on my first grow too and started in a 4 gal tote for 2 plants and the res full was 2gals. After 4 weeks of veg under 92w cfls I had nice little bushes. Check my threads. You'll pretty much see from start to where I'm at. I can't give much advise but one thing I'll never do again is put different strains in the same res. they deff battled for nutes and grew at different rates. Good luck homie it's so much fun watching these grow.
Ps deff go with at least a 400w hps for flower.
Also my pH never drifted + or - 10 at most 5.6-6.2 but it's good to let it drift a bit. If your not using calMag I suggest it. I wasn't at first and saw it come week 3

Or at least proper net pots, not sure but I'd be concerned about blowing out the bottoms of those cups. I have done many successful grows in a similar set up. Pails are not needed imo. Doing a run now that is just about finished and will get well over a pound with 2 400's. Keep going, your on track!
