making shatter and need some advice

I've been doing quite a lot of research this past week since being on winter break.. So what I have gathered so far is that when vacuum purging your bho, it's best to start out at a low temperature and slowly raise it? Correct me if I'm wrong or missing anything in that statement.

Something else I wanted to know was what to do during the spraying process. I've heard some people will spray into a pyrex dish floating in heated water while others say that it doesn't make a difference. What do y'all suggest? Another question I had was what to do afterward. Would I immediately begin the purge process once my spray is dry? Or is there an in between step where I use the pyrex dish in hot water method.

I've got some nice blue dream trim that's got heavy trichome content along with untrimmed nugs. I really want to turn this all into shatter and I am buying all of the necessary equipment. I have my extraction tube, pyrex dish, larger dish for the pyrex dish, oil slick mats, a 2.5 cfm vacuum, and a 3 gallon vacuum chamber (all items totaled to a pretty low price ^^).At this point it's actually doing everything that I'm worried about. if anyone can steer me in the right direction that'd be great.

That is way more complicated than sun dried tomatoes!
I probably am overthinking it a bit but with the amount money put into the equipment I want to make sure I come out with a nice product and not something that's going to harm myself or others.

It really depends on what you want, you will learn there is no way to make the "perfect concentrate" everything will be a mix of give and take. By gaining something you will lose something else.

To give you some straightforward answers.

You may gradually increase your heat if you like or set it to 110 and get going. The community has generally landed on heat no higher than 115F. Some pride themselves on purges never exceeding 100F. It depends on how much time you can invest and what type of concentrate you want to make.

The water in dish thing is to pre-purge your product outside allowing you to remove more butane in a safer environment. If I'm making shatter ill do it if I want a low heat crumble I won't.
I would spray first then place in warm water dish. replace water as needed.

Usually you want the concentrate to be quite sticky and not so luqid filled when you transfer or "scrape" it on to the slick pad. Too runny will damage your pad and run off it as well. Also if your not using a cold trap you want to introduce as little butane as you can to your vacuum pump so pre-purging is good idea.

right on bro thanks for the input. I'm actually going to try and get some blasting done today with my friend's setup (pressure cooker vac) and get some stuff made before I can get my own setup together.

EDIT: Pre-purging is just using the hot water dish method right after blasting?
Also, would it be wise to let the freshly blasted oil dry before transferring it into the vac chamber?

Sorry for all the questions guys. Just trying to get a small routine down in my method.

Right, using the hot water or letting a fan run over it to let it purge as well as it can on its own.
