You need to add the driver into that equation, good luck getting the info on those on a lot of lights though.
What do you mean? seperate drivers = a little more heat? Here's be setup drawn out. Kinda shitty drawing but.. There's also small computer fans in between each wall to try to help keep both rooms same tent. This is the 2nd floor. Plasticed off at top of steps with a zipper doorway.

I think they are assuming that the Rw150 and the Rw75 might not use the same drivers.....someone has specs somewhere, or they can be contacted directly.

I honestly didn't even look at what lights were being compared. I just saw that the driver was missing from the efficiency/heat equation as it was posted.

The bulbs are the infared I found out. I have a ? I ordered the 4 150s for flower tent. But which would be better for veg tent. Both for running cost and coverage. 4 75s or 2 150s
And what do you think about which one would put of the least heat? About the same?
Same chips + same wattage=== same heat

Maybe you should pay attention when commenting^^^^

A RW75 is basically a RW150 cut in half and share the same parts........so I'll rephrase it for you

Same chips+same wattage+same driver(s)+same mcpcb+ same secondary PMMA lenses+ same 120mm fan(s)+ same quick connects+ same MA + same daisy chain plug+ same casing material + same fucking brass hanging loops==== SAME HEAT

OR for people with an attention span of a fungus gnat

2 RW75 ===HEAT=== 1 RW 150

Just put him on ignore, that's what I did. Much better vibes on RIU.
Yeah...............haven't put anyone on ignore since 2010, BUT I'm getting real close:wink:

I'm only on my cell phone and it's very difficult to read and post. My attention span is very short also I had a terrible brain injury a year ago. I'm trying to learn how to grow/ setup grow toom and also trying to figure out how to use this forum.

My bad on that one, I made the false assumption that they were comparing two different lights. I would have made the same mistake anyway because I didn't know they actually use two drivers in the 150.

Thanks for the education, could do without all the aggression though.

How big of a light should I be getting for a 2' x 2' x 5' size tent?

2 or 3 plants.
You will get debate on this. I think about 7500lm/sqft is optimal. Anything form 5000 to 8000 is where you want to be. (this is only applicable if you are looking at white leds/florescent/HPS/MH/CMH/... not red and blue sources.)

At 7500lm/sqft you need 30,000 lumens. A 250w HPS + 50w in supplemental lights would serve you very well. Switch to a MH during veg. The 50w supplemental lights: 25w UVB CFL or T8. 25w 6500k for flower 25w 3000k for veg (this is supplemental, just to provide a bit of blue during veg and a bit of red during flower, the opposite of your main light.)

If you want to go LED you will need between 230w and 300w depending on the chips being used.

It depends on the light you're getting, how efficient it is. In your 5' tall space you're going to have to be concerned with the distance required between canopy and light. This can use a significant amount of your available height to grow.

If I were you I'd go with lower-wattage LED lightbulbs (more sources of light, more coverage). Or, T5HO. Or, if you're really going to buy a fixture, one that uses 3w chips on white backboard for more diffuse light that you can let your plants get close to. (Not 5w, not mounted in reflectors which is more intense and requires more distance.).

5ft is boarder line. If you want to do longer veg cycles and totally fill that space listen to az2000. 3w chips only require 2-3" of spacing so you can maximize your space, but you can get the same yield with shorter grows with more plants. It's a personal decision that should be considered when picking your light.

Hey captain. Just got my lights in thanks for the tips. They got here in 4 days! These are good lights I can tell already just by the build quality. Going to hook them up for the new year. This is going to be a beast flower tent. Also included some pics of my intake/Exaust I just redid. Still have to mount other fan. Don't know what else to do bout the window. I have is cracked 6" and screen covering the opening along with filter for intake.

So you can generalize the term 3w chips to encompass anything...but when we call things "china lights" its wrong and we are full of shit...do I have it correct???

The most intense light made...DIY or commercial...uses 3w chips.

Once again your talking out your inexperienced ass.
The surface area of a light using 3w chips has to be larger than that of those using COBs, you can't fit as much in as small a space, so the beam is less intense at closer distances. The point is, if the light is emitted from multiple sources the light is safe for plants at closer range.

I'm not talking out my ass, I have very good experience in this area. And the laws of physics.

I don't give up to bullies that try to use deception to convince people they are right. I will continue to pop in and point out any falsies I see. If I see people trying to simplify it down to only one "good" or "right" option I will be chiming. I don't react emotionally to the attacks I just stick to the point and always tell you why I think what I think along with what I actually think. What someone thinks really doesn't matter much if they don't have good reason. That reason can be learned via education, experience, or if you are smart a logical extension of existing knowledge.

Hopefully we use all three of those methods to gain knowledge/aka get better at growing. An idiot who has grown for 30 years won't compete with a genius who has grown for 3. In the end, use your own brain to come to a conclusion, don't use mine or any other member's, use your own.

And incase you thought the lenses were helping much...
IMG_4701.jpg
that's 2159µmols...no lenses...bare 3w diodes...

I don't give advice...I grow and use good stuff. If someone asks what I am doing then I tells them what I am doing. OR if someone comes to my thread directly. I don't come in here very often to tell someone what to do. But I look at it and have to see you spewing shit everyone. And will not let take over this place with bullshit. If anyone thinks I'm full of shit go to my garden and see why I talk about the products I do. Show me anything other than a51 and vero's that keeps up.
Fell free to show us some grows of people doing what you are preaching...cite sources...or just show some real life success...
I know that last one will be tough for you.

Stop generalizing shit if you expect the same. I dare you to put this light 2"-3" and be successful.

You realize the noon day sun averages 1990 µmols at the equator right? They can handle and love 2159, give it a try, I have my colas within 2" right now and they are pretty happy.

I had no idea...IMG_5249.jpg
Pic is from aug

Show me a study of any indoor lighting that supports anything even over 1500µmols.

So tell me again...
what is your g/w...and g/sqft...and total yield...the space used...and lights used. And why your at it, the potency of your crop...????
