If only I had known some stalkers would come by years later and twist the meaning of that post i would have added "in success" after both play a role. I didn't have to explain it to anyone there, they were following along and knew it meant that.

We were reading about what that book was saying and having a discussion. Are you familiar with it? The dude makes some pretty wild claims. You'd have to be like Buck and think the soft sciences get it right every time to believe the claims.

Let me ask you this. Do you think intelligence factors in success, do you think SES factors in success.

i just don't understand why you not only do not dispute the concept of "races with higher intelligence", but go on to argue for it.

Remember you did say race does not determine how intelligent one can be... I accepted that as your answer ...then we hugged.

kicking your wife out of the house (doubt it happened that way) does not seem to be an example of 'taking care of me and mine'.

All right let me try this again. If you were there it wouldn't need to be explained but you weren't so I'll try.

We were discussing the premise of the book. He claimed the gap was because intelligence is the major decider in success. Somebody made the claim that all people have the same propensity for intelligence and that intelligence is NOT hereditary.

I say intelligence plays a role in success but is not a deciding factor. I say SES also factors. Then I laughed at the guy who said intelligence can't possibly be hereditary. I made no claim of any skin color being smarter than any other. The book did however and laid out the average IQ scores. I don't buy into the soft sciences as fact like others here do and have been very up front about that. I bet you can even think of times when I've mocked social studies as science and it pissed you off like it did Buck.

Did you know that he claimed the term soft sciences was a made up word by rednecks to further their racist agenda? If you believe the studies in the book, the agenda is the studies themselves.

I give two fucks about Red. He is a shitty person. If anyone takes what I say to the next man personal and let it get to him/her, I would suggest they take a look as to why

yep, he believes there are intelligence differences between "ethnic groups".

you just gotta take "the fear of racism out of the equation", and "being PC does not make it true" (that there aren't differences).

i'm sure i'll find more of this as the thread goes on. several members there are stating outright that there are not "races with higher intelligence" and he is disputing them in his cowardly little eupemistic way.

Oh man, that's a loaded question. The gap has layers upon layers built in over centuries here through government laws and regulations. I think our efforts to help overcome the gap has actually made things worse.

There was a time in this country where blacks were starting behind where whites were starting, of course this would result in a gap. Today the answer is more complex and I don't have the answers. I don't believe we have a head start anymore in this rat race based on color, I believe the head start is based on SES today, not color.

I blame the democratic party and the mentality that spurns those who don't group think into voting this way. Look how UB talks about a noted Brain Surgeon, he calls him a fucking thug for what he did as a teen. We both know it's because he doesn't toe the line. I blame that mentality. I blame the fact that good grades at innercity schools are mocked. I blame our legal system for making laws based on color both for or against, doesn't matter, law should be color blind. I blame the war on drugs as it disproportionately is skewed against blacks. I blame religion and the power the black community gives to their Aldermen. I believe we can't really talk about it because somebody is yelling THAT'S RACIST!! if we try to discuss it.

That's only part of it, didn't know we'd be going there so you caught me off guard. What are some of the reasons you blame for it?

So, either you can throw the soft science tests out the window or you have to say the results are lies not just wrong.

i've always held that the tests are biased against certain races. i've also said that they do not necessarily test intelligence.

do a search for "catherine the great" ont his site and you will see why.

knowing "who was catherng the great?" is not necessarily an indicator of intelligence, but knowledge.

you fail again, loser.
