Yes just let em grow and have recovery time between topping i top two at a time heres one i did last week ill top again in a few days after it grows more

Your question is like asking which opening to use in chess, therefore my advice is to use the technique with your desired end in mind; what do you want to end up with? A flat plane of well ScrOG'ged tops? Whatever it is, top to get the shape you're after.
Another interesting line of thought is the notion of treating the stems of the cannabis plant like a plumbing or sprinkler system- only you grow it into existence, rather than assembling it from pipes and fittings. This theory calls for maintaining even pressure at each 'sprinkler head', aka budding tip, in order to provide equal nutrients and therefore equal size.
Pollarding and espalier are both techniques that tap into this thinking, so to speak. Google some images with these keywords to give some ideas.

Top for 4 tops then LST. Flower once that fills out to my desired height.

I top only after 3- 4 nodes develop. The plant will stunt for 3 or 5 day's, while it recovers. This should occur at 3.5 weeks, with a healthy and happy plant. When I crop, I start my bloom at 1 week after topping ( 4-5 weeks), but I never cut again because you really don't have the time for it in an 9 week indoor grow, to produce the biggest bud, with the least amount of shock and stunting. This is my limited opinion though.

Your full of shit ( I hope so). 12 week veg/ ( must be some good plants) 8 week bloom (20 weeks for a fast Indica). What the fuck is that? I get 2 grows ( damn close) for one of yours, and probably twice the green. Please say your were kidding ( for the newbies)

Yes 5 month total grow at 120 tops per plant times 18 and I get 2;160 tops at harvest time.
Each plant is topped 6 times per veg grow cycle. Topped twice per month x 3 months veg.
I get up to 2 in. growth per day at full swing that allows me to top plenty.

Man, I could never wait that long (I commend you). Maybe for a tremendous plant, that if I had a couple of other 12 weekers, I might endure a pet plant. but I don't have the time or the space. I really grow for profit. How wide is that plant? I want pictures!

God bless you. I am growing 12 plants in a 4x5 area, cropped and a couple supercropped and I am jammed. I let them go after cropping to 2.5-3' ( Waterfarm) and then they run into my strings and then HST, and I have a hard time managing. I trim (defoliate) at around 6 weeks to finish but, that's all I can do. My plants (recirculating drip) end up being 5-6' finish height (usually 50/50 Indica with an average 4 to 6 oz per plant). I had some pictures, but the site trashed them. Anyway, congrats on your grow
