I'm vegging under my XGS 190. Works great. But, to be honest, my cheap $150 Apollo 4 (custom spectrum based upon Grow Northern's Rebel Spectrum) is working well too. Just received a RW-75 which I'll add to the tent when I switch to flower in a week.They. Vege great, I'm adding a 2nd but I'm leaning to the Rw 150 for more red for flower. I'm seeing the limits with only one in a 3x3 but still happy with it.
I think it was BadKarma who said the RW runs cooler because it uses 150w instead of 195w. I think he said that in the context of the RW and XGS producing similar results, just that the fewer 45w were beneficial. The Rw 150 seems so close to the xgs 190 but i forget what thread somebody said the Rw seemed a little cooler running than the xgs.
I flipped my XGS-190 to flower a couple days ago. Exhaust feels much warmer. It might feel warmer because outside temps have been over 110F (43C). When it's that hot outside it's like you can feel the heat indoors. Thermostat says 83F like any other day, but you feel it like infrared penetrating the walls. So, when I flipped the XGS's lights to full power, I really felt the heat. But, it could be because everything feels hot.Being just a 3x3 I'm leaning to the Rw because I just can't cool this room enough even with a/c. Any advantage I can get.
Are you still using the XGS? Got a new grow going?Dried till crispy outside and spongy in the middle. Been in jars for a couple days and moisture feels right, starting to rehydrate to the outside of buds and they're getting sticky. I just weighed again today and came in at just over 6 oz of bud plus I separated the real sticky frosty trim to make some bubble hash. I've been using the trim for brownies and the wife really likes it. 4 plants under one xgs 190 with no side lighting and I think this light did really well. 4 were too much, should of been 2. Now I want to try some top shelf genetics so I'm looking. A nice hybrid. Indica heavy.View attachment 3219697
Bigeasy1, how's it going. I saw you picked up a couple a51 lights. I researched for quite a bit before going with a51. Quality, warranty, and upgrade path sold me. I have 2 xgs 190's. I'm just a hobbyist grower so LED lighting is good enought to get what I want. My current grow is a mix in gallon pots. 1 liberty haze, 1 LSD, then la plata labs 2 alien bubba and 2 Quinn n tonic cbd. The two la plata strains are regular seeds so I popped extras and filled the tent. I may have caused a lockout by forgetting to adjust my ph so the 2 barneys farm plants got calcium deficient. The LSD not as bad. They seem ok now. Here's pics of my current grow. Are you still using the XGS? Got a new grow going?
Sweet set up! Yea, I read through your journal earlier. I'm just a personal stash guy as well. Vary rarely run two plants at a time. I do kind of a perpetual grow. Every four to six weeks I'll pop another bean. I have the same tent you have but its a tight fit for two mature plants so I stagger them out. Mine grow like bushes. Three foot tall or so and fat. To do this perpetual grow I had to start running auto's and have been pleased with the results. I just pulled 150 grams trimmed and dried off a Barney's Farm Sweet Tooth. I'm excited to see how much better these Area 51's can do compared to my Black Star Chrome 270. I got the Black Stars dialed in so it'll be interesting to see the differences in the growing process.Bigeasy1, how's it going. I saw you picked up a couple a51 lights.
