giving defoliation during flower a try

I STILL can not tell the difference and I grew strictly organic for years. I gradually made the switch to hydro and didn't notice anything different in taste or smell really either.
I switched from mineral nutes in soil to organics to hydro and I do notice a difference: hydro > soil in so many ways which indirectly often means taste too (that'll get us to page 200 :D )

lol @skunkd0c - I felt like ghandi for a few minutes during that thread, it even got to the point where someone said they don't trust refined salts because of cancer, (or something like that).. So I said, well that's weird, cancer goes back to BC times and people back then only ate organic things but only lived to an avg of 35 years old. (Even plants can get tumors). It was a check mate moment and i gave my self a pat on the back lol

That's some damn nice looking buds sativied! It looks very similar to the structure on my tangilope, the way the bud is devoloped. A good cure will ALWAYS bring out the true smells within the buds, a nice cure does wonders. Were those buds reallllyyyyyyyyyy oily? Like almost wet with grease? It looks like it, that's what the tangilope is doing, basically dripping oils, it's strange. It also did the buds growing out of the leaf thing and then leaves growing out of the leaf, wierdest shit I've seen on a plant in a while lol

lmao it might have been, I can't remember, but it was quite the debate for a minute. I'm all for keeping the earth clean and when growing outdoor I'm against people dumping nutes in the rivers and all that jazz, but just because people grow in hydro or with salts doesn't make us a planet hater, I mean come onnnnnn, I save more water growing in hydro than I would growing in soil, that's a fact. I hardly ever do a res change and have no run off into the ground. I think I made that point in the thread too, I'm saving the planet by growing in hydro lol

Pretty sure I mentioned in thread back then that the buds were so frosty they give a finger-hash dressing bonus, so yeah some of the frosty I've had and the larger nugs still sticky on the inside when crumbling.

Grandparent of tangilope is the Cannalope Haze, which is basically the foundation for my crosses and the whorled phyllotaxy project. I've also had a fasciated plant (stem and buds, search my journal for fasciated or fasciation) in its offspring, and several other less obvious freaks including several with the middle-finger mutation

I may try to isolate the trait and see if it inherits if I get more space someday, breed it into a pungent skunk and call it Smell My Finger. :bigjoint:

I'll have to look into these fasciated plants, I wasn't sure what it meant, but I think my tangilope did something similar? Something new to research 8-) Can you give me a run down of it? I'm checking out the pics in your journal right now

I've noticed a lot of defoliations budz foxtale? what's up with that, or was it just the strain your growing... Guess I'm asking skunkdoc mostly.

I agree with skunkd0c, it's a pheno/strain thing. I had a star 47 (sensi star x ak 47) that had the most ridiculous fox tails I've ever seen, it was the hardest plant to trim of my life. Also, some og's like to foxtail very late in flower but not too bad. It's a sativa thing usually

Since this is a defoil thread, I thought I would post this pic to show the growers that defoil what they are missin :hump:

We covered that already on page X. The argument from a defoliator was he'd rather have those trichs on the buds but failed to understand the trichs are not on the leaves instead of the bud but in addition to.

It's one of my favorite positions :bigjoint:

But I do enjoy on top too:

And licking stems... wait, that came out wrong...
