Net Neutrality... No, really it will be faster and cheaper... Says the government.

You guys never end... But hey, it is bad to make weed illegal... Yeah right... People are delusional.

ellipses abuse aside, let's focus on delusional.

aren't you the guy who says the earth has been cooling? that forest fires cause global cooling? the guy who asked me to draw iran's route to the sea? the guy who spent months crowing about skewed polls?

you do not get to call anyone else delusional.

I sit here at my computer thinking of the ways I can connect to the internet.

I am connected by landline to mediacom. However, I could get my signal beamed in through my direct TV or sign up for satellite computer service through a number of providers. In addition to my hot spot provided by verizon which I could actually convert my phone over to.

I probably have over 20 choices of how to connect to the internet right now and they all have to compete for my dollars.

But somehow, it could suddenly become unfair in the future and supar expensive so we have to make it more expensive and slower now to prevent that hypothetical thing from happening. Does this sound like the Global Warming hype all over again to someone else??

Ask yourself... Do you have a problem with internet load speeds now? Is this just a bullshit boogyman like climatedisastergateamageddon? Is there really a problem?
You didn't answer any of my questions, I answered all of yours in my last post. It's only fair you respond. :p

The power lines are not public. The water lines are not public. The cable television signal be it ground or by air is scrambled and not public.

But somehow... the internet infrastructure. Which is essentially the phone lines and data lines that private companies put in the ground and the satellites they launch. Somehow those should be public property? Welkom to Amerika. Probably should be free to Vet's too right? So you can bitch about your benefits....

Deciphering...

Relax, have a toke, service a few guys for $20 a pop and then try debating.

Please explain to me how an OC3 backbone works bro. I was sixteen when I got my first A+ certification, 18 when I landed my first Cisco CCNA. Want to discuss the finer details of networking security in work forces larger then one thousand workstations?

What does that have to do with the ISP? What do you need to connect to the internet and provide a site? A DNS right? I mean you dont need it but it is hell for people to find your site without one.

How many people can provide you with a DNS right now?

I have a 4 year degree in applied computer science, did A+, been there done that got the T-shirt. Did certifications in networking after that. None of what you said backs up your bullshit.

There have never been more ways to connect to the internet and never have been more service providers. Give me an example of one thing government has gotten involved in which has become better, cheaper and faster.

You didnt ask any questions and your supposed specialty does not address how you access the internet and how sites access the internet.

They are introducing gigabit internet.

This issue is a strawman created by people who's interest it is in to shut down the little guy and these people who are arguing for it are too stupid to see that.

In addition, it appears that many of the people arguing simply do not understand the structure of the internet.

So "they" whoever they may be, are trying to do the video killed the radio star type thing ?

space exploration.

providing health care to seniors.

the military.

the infrastructure that supplies you with 40% of your water.

should i go`on?

How much money did you make today?

I met a nice lady... She happened to be black. She paid me for my OPINION on a house. I didnt service her but I still got paid!!! You should see some of the lesbians I take care of :P

Why on earth were you not recruited to the dark side of IT after MU? You fit the profile much better than I did and they doubled my pay. I hated it though, so if you turned it down, good choice. There is so much idiocy advocated by MU that it hurts every time I have to tell a doctor they lost money because his front office didn't check the hispanic/non-hispanic box.

They were literally begging nurses to join us to work in data analyzing. They preferred you nurses over us rehab people because of your drug and coding knowledge.
When I was young I loved computers, I was a bit of a loner until Junior year in high school. I got bored with university and enlisted as a medic, my certs took a back seat, then died. Never used them unfortunately.

I only putter around with computers for fun now, I haven't done any serious coding for almost seven years. I specialized in C# mainly. I learned it so I could code script for a video game of course!

That was me too. I was also the guy on the rehab floor that would fix a simple issue before IT could get there and the IT director was a friend so he pushed for them to get me.

A Cisco cert though, that's serious shit.

You missed the panic boat when MU was first constructed (before the stimulus, after the election). You could have named your price. It's been long enough now that they are training new grads. My time in it is coming to a close.

I entered active duty in 2005, got out in 2013. I totally missed that stuff. These days I am semi-retired, though I am going to university again. Trying something less medical and less computer intensive this time, agricultural sciences.

I picked up a new hobby of trading currencies. I made 300% profit the first 2 months and started thinking "this is easy, I'ma quit my yob!". That was 6 months ago and I've made 20% since...

Growing plants is therapeutic. I know there is more to ag science then that, but I think I would enjoy it.

You may be an important person with all this global warming. If we shift our focus to how to grow X in a Y climate, you'll be worth your weight in gold. Hope it happens for ya.

what does her color have to do with anything ?
Not post related, just wanted your attention. My favorite wtf was Carrol thinking meme

LOL you suck man!

Not sure you've heard, but we got some guy named Harbaugh to coach us. I think the news might have mentioned it once or twice.

I'm going to use that Meme and change it to Michigan State, thanks.
Well we will see if you guys can do anything with that team call Ohio State.
Too bad you guys won't be playing Notre Dame

It would be nice to hate them again instead of envy them.

It sucks ND dropped us because they joined the ACC instead of the B1G. It's really easy to hate ND no matter how good or bad they are. They out-ego even us UM grads.

You fail to understand the issue at hand here, not regulating the Internet will turn it into a free for all. Ultimately it would stifle competition and tech companies so badly that it is a NET LOSS for the entire planet if it remains a non-utility.

Currently: broadband is unregulated, traffic flows freely to and from all sources at the same rate. Video traffic is the same importance as university data, same as emails. Everything is not priced according to the type of data, why would it be? All types of data require the same amount of ONs and OFFs, the electricity requirement is exactly the same bit for bit.

If things were allowed to be run by comcast:
All data could be priced according to an arbitrary number from someone's ass.

Massive additional fees will results in the inability of small business to have a web presence.

Not getting the Internet turned into a utility would be a nightmare for our economy.

Did you do some kind of retarded pill tonight?

If we don't pass a law that blows ass that doesn't mean shit is going to happen lol. They are already gouging us let the companies do what they want and we will decide which company to go for.
