perhaps you've heard of peak oil, well peak weed is coming too.. that is the point in the future when so many folks are getting into commercial growing that they end up flooding the market and bringing the price down to near nil.. think of all the other agricultural fads gone wrong like emus, llamas, ginseng, etc etc etc.. where a bunch of folks get an idea in their head at the same time and then there's a mad rush and soon a stampede.. try giving a llama away nowadays lol.. in the end we will win..

Yes this is great news, finally people who need MMJ will be able to get it for rock bottom prices. Boutique growers with top shelf will do OK, the commercial growers will become normal "farmers" with a sustainable crop that will replace petrochemicals. A renaissance of agriculture. All Good.

Legalization is going to mean high prices and high taxes and if you don't understand that you're probably not very high.

You can grow all the free ginseng you want. I betcha a farmer would give you some if you wanted to try some...free. Same way I give away apples and plums from my trees. The monetary value comes through commercialization. If I choose to grow my full 49 plant allotment, I would have more than enough to share, either sell to help with costs or give away to those in need. The recreational retail market would be pricey and taxed...but your garden isn't. If the governments goal is to collect taxes, they would be defeating their purpose by having higher prices than the BM. The BM has done fine for a long time...legal will have to be competitive.

anyone who has done the math will realize the miniscule amount of land it will take, relatively speaking, to supply the bulk of the free world with weed.. it's a pittance, GB knows ;)

imagine growing a crop that you do not have a buyer for, just winging it because everything seems to be going good.. imagine doing that, and then finding out everyone in your neighborhood has the same idea..

I can't speak for other patients but I have nothing but time. I am awake 20 hours a day. And of course there are costs involved with growing...it's just not as much as others seem to think it costs.

Fields for oil, greenhouses for bud.
Quarter ton of oil per acre will change things quickly, could turn it over for $2-$3/g

I wonder how many acres to saturate the market?

I bet a gram of shatter will be worth the same as a gram of top shelf narrow leaf varieties in bud.

The corporatization of cannabis, just like the corporatization of trade society and culture is the real problem.

Big Cannabis is coming, and it aint good, support your local farmer for food and ganja.

In an edible post, I mentioned Hempola Vally Farms and their awesome medible cookie mix. I nice little family run hemp farm nearby..or so I thought.
Turns out they recently sold the whole thing to Mettrum. Here I thought I was supporting a local farmer when in fact I was supporting a fucking LP without even knowing it. And to top it off the guy is a part owner of Mettrum. Man this pisses me off! More insider shit just sliding through the cracks.
So the plan is buy up everything cannabis related and have one mammoth corporate cannabis conglomeration? Maybe Tweed should buy High Times and Tilray can buy Dr Greenthumb? Who gets Homegrown Hydroponics and Hemp Depot?

I think this acquisition is proof the LPs see extracts coming via the Smith case. Further proof will be when the case isnt appealed by the gov't.
I dont plan on donating any money for this case as its all just a formality both sides want the same result imvho.
