"Melanie's Marvelous Measles" was written to teach children the "benefits" of having the disease

I said earlier in this thread that they shouldn't be mandatory but your kids shouldn't be allowed in public school if they aren't. I'm starting to come off that stance a little.

If my kid is immunized, why should it concern me if your kid isn't? Sucks for him if he gets something, but mine is immune.
No vaccine is 100% effective. Even if your kid is vaccinated, he might not be immune. If "everybody" is immunized then the chance that your kid will be exposed, whose vaccination did not take, is vastly reduced. "Herd immunity" in a nutshell. You benefit if others are immune.

What is the repub nuttiness from Condy you are talking about that her sister doesn't go in for? How would the sister be an ideal GOP candidate if she's not GOP? I'm confused.
I confess I don't remember her name, surely Google knows, but she's definitely a Democrat. I'm not interested in what insanely restrictive tests right wingers have to pass in order to be considered ideal.

My standard is simpler; would the candidate do a good job? I think so in this case.

I'm on board with that. My ideal ticket would be Jefferson/Gandhi. I worry that Gandhi would want a 100% tax rate, but I don't worry that he would get it. The rest of his pluses would be good enough to override that.

for a (supposed) medical professional, you seem to be completely dumb to the fact that some children can not be immunized and you would be putting all of them at risk.

Unfortunately, they're both dead. Limiting the pool to the land of the living, I'm thinking she makes a good choice.

I'll look into her. I admit I know nothing about her.

I voted Gary Johnson last time though, and wrote in my brother-in-law the election before that, so that should give you an idea of my politics. I'm very anti-collectivism and I find the politically correct and the moral majority to both be reprehensible. That limits my choices.

Well yeah... your choices become very limited indeed when you apply scruples to politicians.
