I said earlier in this thread that they shouldn't be mandatory but your kids shouldn't be allowed in public school if they aren't. I'm starting to come off that stance a little.
If my kid is immunized, why should it concern me if your kid isn't? Sucks for him if he gets something, but mine is immune.
No vaccine is 100% effective. Even if your kid is vaccinated, he might not be immune. If "everybody" is immunized then the chance that your kid will be exposed, whose vaccination did not take, is vastly reduced. "Herd immunity" in a nutshell. You benefit if others are immune.
