Okay ill research yields for the 120AT. knowledge is poooowaaa! Yea man thats a B.A. Light, but for 2500 its a bit excessive. 800 for the small one I could stretch, but itd need to bump me up yield wise to make a good profit ratio. cost front heavy. if you got 800g per 740watts. the 2x p450 I was talking about pull like 500 and this guys saying he got 792. SO that would equate to higher yield and lower elec. idk if its true, but its been tried. That would be sick. at the cost of $1200 for two\or about half what youd pay for an at600 at 30% less elec. Just running numbers not trying to start an argument. why did cobs take over. Is it just people pushing to frontier or is there serious benefits?

These are just many small datapoints on a large unknown plot, thats why I keep an open mind. You get what you look for in terms of the internet, but I havent found any bad things about platinum. And I have been looking!!!! so that is why I have seriously considered them.

serious benefits to cobs but not much commercial choices. Lots of DIY. GG was saying his DIY cob lights give the apache a run for the money.

Lots of guys here would probably build lights for you i imagine. Ive even done a few for others. If you have some electrical savy maybe DIY is a good option for you though.

Sorry that it didn't work out for but I'm a Cree cobber now but with the Mars lights they work but you gotta have the right strain and they are more for tent growing. I own 6 of them. One 900, 1200 and two1600's and two 300 watt Mars. I have taken them down and made five Cree CXA3590 panels and about to make 3 more.

I feel like you are not getting me, or are thinking a51 and apache are the same company. I'm not talking about or suggested apache tech's at200 or at120. I am telling you that out of all the lights that you listed. The AREA 51 is the best choice. And the foot print I gave you was for the AREA 51.
The at600 is literally 4 at200's in one housing. Nothing more...nothing less. The only difference is the price per watt you are paying. Which is why I say go AREA 51 for 3 panels and down. When you start to use 4+ area51's(which s usually 4x4and up)...then Apache Tech's at600 becomes my choice.

But you seem pretty set on the platinums anyways. Keep us posted on results if you get them. Good luck.

Advanced didn't post the whole par chart on their website like their youtube says they will. Who cares about the center reading...it's the outer edges that matter.

Lol I for sure wasnt getting you. I went and looked at the at grows and cause all the confusion I associated the prefix A of area to at, your grows in your sig. sorry bout that. But I did answer your question I said 90g. I wanst pushing. I had light at top of tent the whole time. the Area-51 Rw-150 your saying is the best option Out of what I listed, But there may be a diy option that would be betteR? I had to take a dab and re-read. alot of model numbers in my head.

just by par output charts, they must have a different driver or bin or somehting because the par is 3k+ at 6in for the p450 and the eshin shows like 2300 max. at less then 4in or 10cm. Idk maybe im falling for marketing tactics. I think what I am gathering from the discussion though is that cobs are really where the movement is headed? or am I inferring to much? I would totally be interested in some underground science and development. I havent done any computer chip work. but I used a sodier as a kid and have rewired my truck. SO I have a basic understanding of electrical components and can do work. Or may be interested in a person who builds them. I dont have my mind set, just working with all the info I can gather man. It is the only commercial all white COB lamp available, so I reached out to the company to see if the parts were legit and they sent me a sample (Vero 18 model). It had some heat issues so they upgraded the cooling and now it passes my test with flying colors. (I did not use it to flower yet, just testing the temp performance). I estimate the Vero29 model I linked is 39.5% efficient at operating temp, the most efficient commercial lamp by far, and the cheapest/PAR W at the same time. It remains untested in the grow room, but on paper it is the best available. They gave us a discount code for 10% off + free shipping "supraspl".

Ohh man That sucks its not tested, I have read like 3 or 4 of yours and javas threads now. And that light boasts 1k umol at 24in, which surpasses anything I was looking at for sure. so there just isnt much info on it? you seem to be pretty deep into the science of it, sick man. did you get a umol count on the model they sent you? lol "summers coming" where I'm from its scary in the summer. Hit my heat limit already. Haven't hit my breaker tho lol. Lies I ran a heater that was 1600 on the same line as my 1k and 6 and it blew. Here's a gift for your viewing pleasure The skywalker og kush and critical kush are day 28, Blue cheese and critical kush are day 21. Tha shiznit autoflower ias a week or 2 off. It is not really easy to run all the strains under one res, but I am workin through it while pheno hunting. The skywalker og in the corner I lst'd and the stem split. and it grew a few balls nexxt to its lady parts. I ate em. cause i didnt know what to do when I found em. There was like 4, and from what I read i caused alot of stress and it could happen. I may toss it due to this fact and it is tall lanky, but still doin daily inspections for balls. It is the weak pheno, dont tell her that though. she may just freak out n go balls to the wall lol. I got some of the sky walker og bho from the dispensary. so excited! the scissor shot is of crit kush under the 600. not really up to par on the nitrogen it req, but seems to be fine. hello thc production for day 28 its been that way all week.

I now see how the 2x vero is just a simple diy away. I see how I could perhaps build my own. It wouldnt be hard. The manufactures often sayu in thier warranties youd have to send back or do labor yourself. I now see the diy cobbers have total support just not under the areas I was looking. maybe, but im saying my first cheap led is not the best. I have already been veging under 1200 mars if you want a pic, but I topped em for 4 main colas and stressed em a bit. Letting leaf count jump back up to 7 or 9 before flipping. The 1200 wont cover the 4x4 table in the 5x5x room. Straight up. I am even looking to replace the hps cause quality is more important then maybe 1/4 the yield i could miss out on. and I agree. Sativcas beeing stretchy, not a good pick for the test run but atf is bomb lol. that is why i am confident 2x that is manageable. leds finish faster!!!! if yall want pics i got all sorts of pics form my mars ruin, i mean run ;D just didnt care to share as it provides nothing of value to the conversations. a bit sad I fell for the marketing tactic or general assumption of more watts is better output. (general hps theory) but completely invalid from what ive seen about leds. I also read that running higher temp room temps are neccisary due to lower heat output, leaf temperatures arent high enough. Prompting me to test close my mars n there it hit 87 with exaust. I then considered investing in co2 instead of light, but co2 wont add girth without all the other variables being right. Just to be clear, I didnt have any issue regarding deficiencies or nutrients( .... not like I do with hps) and i didnt push the light to close like most cause no white nugs. I do flushing for my hps room 2x more often then led when running 50/50 coco/perl and 2x or 3x flood a day. its just a matter of the light aint cutting it and if I can find out how to get the most bang for my buck id be a little happier with leds. I really think the community should take control of the sitch and we need to let others know, I spent like 3 days reading so far to gather all the info that I have, but it doesn't help their sales forces infiltrate sites and post falsified info too.

the mars 2 1200 could do a half pound. I wont argue with people but they run hot and are really inefficient.not quite what people think when considering led. lol. and youd miss out on almost full p for a hps on the table easy. I would almost say 4 of the mars 900 would fit the table. but thats be 1800w lol and maybe the same quantaty. lol so dumb to bump the math out. as 2 apaches would murder that table im sure.

Mars 2 1200 isnt the most efficient light, but you must be doing something wrong. Just pulled just over 2LBS in a 3 x 3 with 8 Blue Dream. Veg 4 weeks. 9 weeks flower. 3 weeks cured. Anyways, I highly suggest you up your plant count and train. Secônd, If going commercial Pacific Light Concepts takes the cake. Anything non COB based is just like the Mars other than Area 51 as they use Cree XM-l2 chips.
Anyways, The Mars works fine if you know what your doing. However, I am upgrading to a Vero 29 setupto compare.

Some other lamps worth mentioning: Amare has a few Cree COBs mixed in, but I am not sure of its availability. The A51 is tested and proven, but having availability issues I believe? The Onyx Grow is a decent choice, very cheap/PAR W but uses frosted lenses. The California Light Works got away from generic LEDs and went with OSRAM. The Apache uses Nichia. The HANS uses good diodes but I am curious about the operating temp and temp droop.

Anything that is using generic LEDs, you would be better off with HPS

The Optic Vero 29 is run dead stock, ie the Vero 29s are at their rated 80w, while the (cheap) Mean Well supply they use (NPF-90-42) is being run pretty hard. With a more robust supply you can easily run the Vero 29s at 130-150w each and 4 could run well over 500w. Not with the Optics case/ cooling set up though, its pretty primitive IMHO.
