When to start 09 season

For the last couple of months I have gathered info on outdoor growing and missed out on planting this year. What would be the best time to plant next year? And about how long does it take a plant to fully go through veg and flowering?

well it depends if you start them inside, but june 1st is a nice goal.

and when its ready,well that depends on strain but id say end of september early august? unless its a lowryder?

dont start 09 grow until 09 and it depends whenever it stops dropping below say 60-70 degrees would be a good time , march for me i live in houston.

I'm startin' '09 this fall with the purple widow I'm working on...I want a 14' shade tree...I'll just veg' it for say 8 months(winter indoors)...of course that might not be legal where you live.

you can really start in may in the uk? i wouldnt even wanna risk may here.. global warming seems to liek to mess with the weather. June 1st in Ontario seemsss prettyy golden.

ontario is my favorite place east of the rockies- that does suck though about the growing conditions...I think it's hillarious when people argue over whether b.c. or nederhash weed is the best! as if there's some mysterious magic infused by growing in damp-and cloudy-ville! at least you get way more sun than those places, and a good ammount of rain(we get zero here!). you can start them indoors around new yrs.(IF you can!).just don't forget to harden them off when they do go outside.

For me, like Hillbilly, I start inside. I like to Germ around the last of Oct, or in Nov. Goal is to have an 18 inch or taller plants when they go out for Summer Camp. If they are too small, little crawling things can chomp right through them. I've got 7 (4 is clones) being kept close until they get a bit bigger. Fucking Grasshoppers, this time of year can take down a sapling!

ontario is the closest thing to heaven i thinkkkkk.

The sooner you start them the bigger they will get. I find if I start them mid april they will finish at around 6-8 ft , mid may 5-7 ft, start of june 4-6 ft if left untopped.

OK, here's the rule of nature. One plant can live and do relatively well when growing in the Spring, where temps. are 55 low, & 70 high. An identical strain started when the temps are 60 to 75/80, the later planted plant will shoot up fast, catch up to the older plant, and in most cases, do better because the cool nights stunt the growth. Pott is just like tomatoes & peppers in this aspect, they are HEAT-LOVING plants. Each year, there is a great race to plant tomatoes... and most times, they freeze. The Local Nurseries promote this to sell more plants. So don't plant just because others do. To beat the system, (get a jump), compost the ground well if in soil, & cover them every late afternoon with 5 gal. buckets, and remove them each morning once the sun is shining on the bucket. For further cheating, some avid Gardeners use old fashion Christmas lights under the bucket at night, also. Hell, if you do this, may as well line the bucket with mylar. The plants would love it. Solar powered lites may work also...

oh shit! you're giving the mad scientist ideas! like an outdoor nitetime phototron !!!! that would definitely work here! it's nice in the daytime in winter(when it's not raining!).

if you can trick the photo period to say 14 or more hrs.(lights, or indoor),you could stagger growing seasons and harvest 3 or more times a year...it doesn't freeze there. the big factor is manipulating the light cycle...that means every day without fail...so you have to plan around it-( going places,doing things)!

I put mine out in maRCH can't wait I start indoor in dec. with 3 -5 footers going in March
