I can't help but feel we use extremists as an excuse for war when really what we are doing is fighting against "not democracy" and supporting cronyism. I can't ignore the calls for "war lite" against Assad for gassing his people then a year later we are fighting a "war lite" FOR him.

Did y'all know that the drug wars in Mexico are killing more people than all the conflicts in the middle east combined? Nobody cares because THAT isn't an excuse to pump up the profits of America's war machine.

I agree with everything you wrote.... particularly neutering the ability of the wealthy few to influence elections and policy.

Considering that corporate America is in bed with (almost) every member of capitol hill, and even the supreme court has become a partisan institution.... how would you go about changing things? IMO Americans are too soft and complacent to undergo any type of civil uprising. It would take a Martin Luther King type figure to occupy the White House and shine a light on all of this. Even then, that type of person would likely be assassinated inside of the 1'st year in office.

I've answered that question, above. They can't shoot ALL of us, and in fact shooting ANY of us over this will lead to exactly the kind of millions screaming in the streets protests they're terrified of- because then the politicians will have no choice.

Until then however, it's business as usual... after all, no one went to jail over the credit default swap scandal, or the malfeasance that led to the housing meltdown... and no one has gone to jail for the crimes that led to the financial meltdown.

This stands in stark contrast to events after the crash of 1929...

If you do, to what extent exactly? Completely private, as in Muslims should not be allowed to pray in public? Somewhat restricted, as in Muslims should only be allowed to pray at their Mosques or homes? Or totally equal, as in Muslims can practice their religion wherever they want?

It's pretty clear you already believe Islamic worship should be a private affair... The only reason I ask is because you seem to be somewhat of a US constitutionalist while simultaneously hating the USA, which is fair enough, this thread isn't about your own personal beliefs and I can't say I disagree with them in a few aspects.. Moving on though.. Do you believe free men and women should be allowed the right to their own personal beliefs? How should a free man in the US who believes in Sharia Law conduct himself? (If this applies to you) How do you reconcile your belief that free men should be able to practice their religion freely, while simultaneously believing that a man's religion is the supreme law of the land - at least to him anyway? You say this, they say that, so who's right, in the end?
